Ever felt overwhelmed, your heart racing, struggling to sleep? Perhaps the demands of caring for loved ones and daily responsibilities impact your relationships and well-being. You're not alone. As a specialized individual counselor, I offer brainspotting therapy and/or individual counseling to help clients navigate these challenges. Together, we'll build on your strengths in a supportive environment, tailored to your needs. Drawing from my diverse background in mental health, I'm dedicated to helping individuals like you find balance and thrive.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first counseling session, you'll be greeted with warmth and introduced to the therapeutic process. We'll discuss confidentiality and informed consent, ensuring your privacy is protected. Our priority is creating a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and experiences. Together, we'll explore the issues at hand, reflect on your past, and identify your personal strengths. This comprehensive understanding will guide us in determining your needs and goals. We'll develop a roadmap for therapy, establishing objectives and outlining potential strategies or interventions to address your concerns. Ultimately, this initial session sets the foundation for our journey together, charting a course toward self-awareness, growth, and positive change. It is the first step in our collaborative effort to help you achieve your therapeutic goals and live a more fulfilling life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strength lies in forging strong, trusting connections with clients, creating an open and supportive environment. Through compassion, empathy, and open-mindedness, I strive to ensure individuals feel secure in sharing their experiences. This foundation nurtures personal growth and helps clients navigate life's intricacies. Being in a blended, culturally diverse family, I understand the complexities of navigating different viewpoints. As a counselor, I bring my own life experiences to the table, acknowledging that, like many, I've faced feelings of anxiety and being overwhelmed. These experiences inform my approach, fostering an authentic and understanding connection with my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using CBT techniques has helped clients understand the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and actions. The client will learn to recognize how their thoughts influence their feelings and behaviors. Coping skills will manage distressing thoughts and emotions.

Brainspotting

During a brainspotting session, I will guide the client's attention to specific eye positions, or "brainspots," that are believed to be linked to the activation of traumatic memories or emotional experiences stored in the brain. I will facilitate the client in identifying and focusing on these brainspots while maintaining a state of mindfulness and openness to their inner experiences. This process allows the client to access deeper levels of emotional processing and release the stored trauma or distress associated with these memories.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I will use active listening to understand the underlying emotions and meaning with what the client reports. I will convey my understanding and will encourage the client to explore their feelings. The client will determine the topics they want to share.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I will assist the client in focusing on identifying and building solutions rather than analyzing problem. We will collaborate setting clear and specific goals and identify the client's strengths and existing solutions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I will assist the client on focusing on increasing awareness of the moment without judgement, learning to set boundaries, express needs, navigating interpersonal conflicts, identifying and managing intense emotions, and distress tolerance.
