About me

As a Latino war veteran and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I bring both cultural understanding and firsthand experience with resilience, transition, and recovery to my work as a therapist. I am dedicated to supporting individuals navigating crisis, depression, PTSD, and anxiety, offering a compassionate and empowering space for healing. My approach integrates Crisis Stabilization, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing, helping clients build coping strategies, strengthen emotional well-being, and rediscover balance in their lives. Drawing from my military and cultural background, I strive to connect authentically with each client and guide them toward meaningful growth and stability.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, we’ll focus on creating a comfortable and confidential space where you can begin sharing what’s brought you to therapy. We’ll discuss your current concerns, personal goals, and what you hope to gain from our work together. This is also a time for you to ask any questions about the therapy process so you feel informed and supported from the start. We’ll review important legal and ethical aspects of therapy, including confidentiality, your privacy rights, and the limits of confidentiality—such as situations involving safety concerns or legal obligations to report harm. You’ll also receive information about informed consent, my professional responsibilities as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and your rights as a client.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my therapeutic approach apart is the combination of lived experience, cultural understanding, and evidence-based care. As a Latino war veteran and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I bring a unique perspective on resilience, transition, and recovery—one that blends empathy, authenticity, and practical skill-building. My work is grounded in proven interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Crisis Stabilization techniques, but always tailored to the individual. I believe therapy should be collaborative and goal-oriented, helping clients not only manage symptoms but also develop lasting tools for growth and stability. Clients often share that they appreciate my direct yet compassionate approach, my ability to meet them where they are, and the sense of empowerment they gain through our work together. Whether you’re overcoming trauma, navigating major life changes, or shifting a negative mindset, my goal is to help you build clarity, confidence, and sustainable emotional wellness.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support individuals who are navigating life transitions, emotional challenges, or moments of uncertainty. Whether you’re adjusting to a new phase of life, coping with loss, struggling with a negative mindset, or seeking to rediscover purpose and balance, I provide a safe and supportive space to work toward meaningful change. I work with adults experiencing crisis, depression, PTSD, and anxiety, as well as those looking to develop healthier coping skills and a stronger sense of self. My approach is solution-focused and collaborative, drawing on Crisis Stabilization, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing to help clients move forward with clarity, confidence, and resilience.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence-based approach for addressing a range of psychological concerns. My practice is grounded in the understanding that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that modifying maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors can significantly improve emotional well-being and functioning. Across settings, I emphasize psychoeducation, skill development, cognitive restructuring, and behavioral activation to empower clients toward greater self-awareness and autonomy.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I regularly incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) in my clinical work as a strengths-based, goal-directed approach that focuses on clients’ existing resources, capabilities, and preferred future outcomes. Rather than focusing extensively on problem history, I help clients identify exceptions, set concrete goals, and build on what's already working. SFBT is particularly helpful when time is limited or when clients benefit from a highly collaborative and empowering process.
