LCSW, 8 years of experience
New to Grow
I’m a mental health professional with a deep and varied background in education, counseling, human services, and advocacy. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside adults, youth, and families navigating trauma, identity shifts, life transitions, and the lasting weight of systemic challenges like poverty, incarceration, and intergenerational trauma. I don’t just see symptoms, I see people. Whole people. And I meet them exactly where they are.
Our first session is all about slowing down and getting to know each other. You don’t need to come in with the perfect words or a clear plan, I’ll help guide us. I’ll ask questions to better understand your story, your current challenges, and what brought you here. You can share at your own pace, and there’s no pressure to “go deep” before you’re ready. This is a space where you’re allowed to be uncertain, emotional, quiet, or messy. We’ll start building a foundation of trust, and I’ll share how I work so you know what to expect going forward. Most of all, my goal is for you to leave that first session feeling seen, respected, and a little more grounded than when you walked in.
I bring a grounded, intuitive presence to my work, allowing clients to feel safe, respected, and met without judgment. My strength lies in attuning to each person’s unique experience and responding with flexibility, care, and curiosity. With a strong foundation in both clinical and real world experience, I’m able to hold space for complexity- emotional, relational, and systemic without losing focus on your goals. I don't rely on one size fits all methods. Instead, I listen closely for what’s said and unsaid and tailor our work to meet the moment. Clients often tell me they feel understood in ways they haven’t before, and that our work helps them access insight, self-compassion, and a clearer path forward.
I work best with individuals and families who are navigating complex life experiences whether that’s trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, major transitions, or the impact of systemic challenges like poverty, incarceration, or generational pain. My clients are often thoughtful, resilient people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unseen and are ready to explore their story in a safe, supportive space. You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. Maybe you’re asking hard questions about who you are, how you got here, or what healing could even look like. You might feel tired of surviving and ready to start reclaiming your peace, your power, or your purpose. If you're open to honest reflection, curious about growth, and willing to show up just as you are, I’ll meet you there.
I have used SFBT extensively with clients who are seeking practical, time-limited support. I focus on clients’ existing strengths, resources, and successes. Sessions often center around exploring the “miracle question,” identifying exceptions to problems, and co-creating small, achievable steps toward change.
I have training and direct experience applying CBT for anxiety, depression, and maladaptive thinking patterns. I help clients identify automatic thoughts, examine cognitive distortions, and develop healthier thinking patterns paired with behavioral experiments or exposure to shift behavior.
My DBT experience includes individual and group settings, particularly with clients dealing with emotional dysregulation, self-harm, or borderline traits. I integrate DBT’s core modules - mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to help clients build coping skills and tolerate distress without escalating crises.
I’ve used ACT principles to support clients with chronic pain, anxiety, and trauma histories. Sessions focus on values clarification, cognitive defusion, and mindfulness. I help clients shift from trying to eliminate painful experiences to building a meaningful life alongside them.
I’ve used TF-CBT with adolescents and adults who’ve experienced trauma. I follow the PRACTICE model and balance trauma processing with skill-building to ensure stabilization and resilience.
