I have been a social worker for over 10 years. I graduated from Boston College and am an LICSW in Massachusetts. I am licensed in other states as well, and I have several years of experience in crisis counseling and helping people manage anxiety and depression. I specialize in short-term counseling by utilizing Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My first question to you is usually, "What is your biggest stressor?" Together, we can find solutions to those worries that keep you up at night!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I practice active listening. I offer advice only if requested. Please understand that I hear you and acknowledge your strengths and challenges.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I really enjoy working with young adults who are experiencing life transitions. It's hard going from high school to college or from college to the workforce, especially if you grew up during a time of a pandemic, where socialization was limited. I also enjoy working with adults who need to problem solve. Sometimes, we need someone to help process events. I often meet with clients who say, "I just need to run this by you to make sure I'm not crazy!" I can assure you that you are not crazy and that there are plenty of people dealing with similar situations!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My first question to you is usually, "What is your biggest stressor?" Then, we break down this stressor by discussing your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

We practice mindfulness daily without even realizing it. We take deep breaths, we stretch, and we take walks. Mindfulness helps you enjoy those activities by staying in the present and minimizing those stressful thoughts.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is my specialty. Let's talk about what recently happened and how we can address it and learn from it.
