Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Massachusetts. I have a Ph.D. in psychology and counseling from Regent University and many years of my own experiences to draw from that make me a grounded understanding partner to help get you back on track. I can help you find the sources of your stress and develop ways to deal with them or if you have lost a loved one, I can help you to understand the pain, process the loss, and find your strength to move forward.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be an introduction with me getting to know you as well as you getting to know me. It is important to me that we build our counseling relationship on trust and honesty. Throughout the counseling process we will discuss many of your most private thoughts and feelings and you can only do that openly if you trust me and feel comfortable doing so. You are the expert on you and my help can only be as good as you allow me to be by opening up and being honest. Once you have explained the things you want to focus on, we will build a treatment plan that will help you achieve your counseling goals and return to a rich and meaningful life.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with many individuals who are experiencing grief and stress as well as having many years of my own experiences to draw from that make me a grounded understanding partner to help get you back on track. Leaning on both my training and experiences I will help you find the sources of your stress and develop ways to deal with them or if you have lost a loved one, I can help you to understand the pain, process the loss, and find your strength to move forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to change and reframe negative thoughts by identifying those thoughts, reviewing and challenging them and then replacing them with objective and realistic thoughts. The negative thoughts can affect us emotionally and have a strong influence on our mood leading to anxiety and depression. By working through the thoughts and finding the needed coping skills one can now recognize the patterns and change them when they occur.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy or ACT emphasizes values, forgiveness, acceptance, compassion, and being in the present moment. ACT is a mindfulness-based approach that is utilized with treating depression, chronic pain, stress, and PTSD. The goal of ACT is to empower the individual to accept the condition or situation and develop or return to a rich meaningful existence.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness therapy seeks to bring one's attention and awareness' to their senses and feelings in the moment. Mainly utilized for stress reduction, breathing methods, guided imagery, and other practices to relax the mind and body are used.
