I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Therapist in 3 states. I am passionate about helping others achieve their treatment goals by providing a non-judgmental and safe space for all. I use empathy, compassion, knowledge, and my clinical experience to help people achieve their treatment goals. Helping people through life’s challenges and transitions is truly a privilege for me. With a person centered, trauma informed, and holistic therapeutic approach, a true trusting relationship can be created to reach treatment goals. I have held several different positions in the clinical/behavioral health field over the years. I have been a Director of Clinical Services/Operations for residential/inpatient facilities. I oversaw five outpatient clinics as a Clinical Director. I was also blessed to work as a therapist and assistant director in Mental Health Court, Drug Court, and Veterans Court when starting my career. I now focus on individual and couples counseling in my professional career. I am originally from Nashville, Tennessee. I was fortunate enough to earn a D-1 basketball scholarship and attend college. I graduated from Missouri State University with a teaching degree. I then moved to Miami Florida to be close and help my handicapped older brother. During this time I fell in love with therapy and helping others even more. So, I decided to go back to school and get my Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Tennessee. I have completed specialized trainings/certifications to help people struggling with Trauma, Grief, Relationship Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Mood Disorders, ADHD, Substance Use Disorders and Co-Occurring Disorders. My goal is to support and help each person find the tools they need to be the best version of themselves, and then live the life they deserve. I love watching someone find the best version of themselves and begin living life to the fullest.
Every first session will begin with brief introductions to help establish rapport and trust. During the first session the goals of treatment will be discussed to determine what clinical interventions can best help client obtain their goals from doing therapy. The first session will entail assessments and all the necessary paperwork to provide treatment with client. If a referral seems to be the better option to meet the client's goals, one will be provided to help client.
Having worked in every level of care (Residential, PHP, IOP, OP) for Mental Health and Behavioral Health facilities and clinics. I have learned the skills and techniques to provide quality treatment or to give quality referrals to help someone. I have been a therapist, clinical director, and director of clinical operations. This helps me understand the need to find the best fit for each clients goals. I truly love being a therapist and it is why I do private practice and consulting for facilities now.
I am an experienced licensed therapist passionate about helping adults improve their mental fitness. Through a person-centered, holistic, and trauma-informed therapeutic approach, trust is created to help individuals establish and attain their treatment goals. My specialties include mental health, substance use, co-occurring disorders, trauma and couples counseling. After some very difficult life situations I started working with a therapist and building a support network. I enjoyed my experience and I went back to school to become a therapist. My first degree was as a teacher/coach so I have always loved helping others. My goal is to help each person achieve their treatment goals by empowering them with the appropriate skills and support needed to achieve those treatment goals. I want each person, I work with, to know they have the ability to change their life for the better. I am trained in EMDR, Brain-spotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Gottman Couples Counseling, and few other interventions. I enjoy knowing multiple evidence based treatment intervention skills because it helps clients achieve their goals better

Person-centered (Rogerian)
Each client is unique and to build the right treatment plan for a client it has to be tailored to their specific needs. (Trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, IFS, & Mindfulness.) Specialize in Mental Health (Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, etc), Substance Use, Trauma, Couples and Life Coaching.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is one of the most successful interventions to help someone dealing with anxiety, depression, mood swings, grief and loss, and trauma. Helping someone find how their core beliefs and values may have been damaged by people or life circumstances is essential to getting someone back to the best version of themselves.

Joseph is a truly wonderful therapist — warm, intelligent, and empowering. He creates a safe space to open up and always provides practical, applicable skills that make a real difference in my day-to-day life. I feel like I’m making progress every week and honestly just wish I had started seeing him sooner!

Highly recommend! My sessions feel like talking to a friend, I don’t worry about saying the wrong thing and getting judged for it. He is able to see what I feel are red flags in a situation before I voice them. I appreciate how realistic he is about goals and how to meet them. He understand that I try my best and may not have been able to put a coping tactic or a hard conversation with someone into my week. He really wants the best for his patients and is happy to help them get there.
