LICSW, 9 years of experience
I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and I hold a license in Massachusetts and Texas. I received my Master's degree at Wheelock College and have almost 10 years experience working with individuals and families. I have also worked with government agencies (DCF, DMH, VA) as well as local agencies who are focused on treating individuals with mental health symptoms.
In our first session, I will explain confidentiality and your right to consent. We will establish rapport by discussing your reason for seeking therapy and develop a therapeutic relationship while I continue to gather background information. We will also identify your triggers in order to determine the appropriate treatment modality. I will also utilize this session to conduct a diagnostic evaluation in order to determine a proper diagnosis.
I have worked with families in addressing the disconnect within the family system. I have also worked with individuals who have experienced trauma and I utilize cultural competence when helping them address the root cause.
I enjoy working with families, adolescents, and older adults who have difficulties with managing their work and life balance.

I think she’s very easy to talk to especially about things that might be on the harder side to talk about. I think that I have improved while working with her a lot.

I have always struggled feeling comfortable with therapy. Ever since my sessions started with Geraldine, she has changed my life! I feel comfortable opening up to her, she's amazing at just listening when I just need to vent, she given me resources and uplifted me when I had been struggling, even cheered for me when I made progress. Now so many sessions in, I feel great about our sessions. I cannot recommend her or thank her enough!!
I utilize this intervention in order to help clients manage mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety, as well as emotional concerns. This modality also helps client's identify coping mechanisms regarding stress management. CBT can also help manage non-psychological health conditions, such as insomnia and chronic pain.
