Hello, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Massachusetts. I received my Masters from Boston College, and have more than 10 years of Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health experience. My clinical background derives from psychiatric inpatient, corrections, outpatient services, family/school/ community-based programming, and emergency crisis services. Culturally sensitive, I am always eager to serve diversified backgrounds, ages and communities.
In our first session together, my initial goal is to give the individual a sense of my clinical style, through exploring my background briefly as well as the treatment styles I utilize during sessions. Following this, I will request that the individual provide me with some background around what interest them in therapy at this time. We will explore barriers related to presented concerns, in addition to identifying realistic goals that could be implemented on day one. I encourage clients to ask questions and to share at their comfort level. If there is a question that brings discomfort, giving yourself permission to say "no" or "I am not ready to explore that" is welcomed.
Throughout my experiences, I have worked with several diversified populations, which I take great pride in. These opportunities have allowed me to gain first hand experience in truly understanding the value in meeting others where they are. This has been one of the greatest lessons I've embraced as a Clinician.
Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & a Strength Based/Solution Focused model, I focus on challenging an individuals perspective, while highlighting the resiliency they continue to display in order to continue to manage the identified experience(s). My treatment style supports bringing control back to an individuals life using practical solutions.
