Hello, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), currently licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I received my Master's from Boston College and have more than 10 years of Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health experience. My clinical background derives from psychiatric inpatient, corrections, outpatient services, family/school/ community-based programming, and emergency crisis services. Culturally sensitive, I am always eager to serve diversified backgrounds, ages and communities.
In our first session together, my initial goal is to give the individual a sense of my clinical style, through exploring my background briefly as well as the treatment styles I utilize during sessions. Following this, I will request that the individual provide me with some background around what interest them in therapy at this time. We will explore barriers related to presented concerns, in addition to identifying realistic goals that could be implemented on day one. I encourage clients to ask questions and share at their comfort level. If there is a question that brings discomfort, giving yourself permission to say "no" or "I am not ready to explore that" is welcomed.
Throughout my experiences, I have worked with several diversified populations, which I take great pride in. These opportunities have allowed me to gain first hand experience in truly understanding the value in meeting others where they are. This has been one of the greatest lessons I've embraced as a Clinician.
An ideal client would be someone who may be in a space of ambivalence, seeking options to create or sustain change within their life course. Whether an individuals presenting concerns stem from personal, professional, or environmental factors, we will work together to explore strategies that will promote balance in better managing the identified concerns.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & a Strength Based/Solution Focused model, I focus on challenging an individuals perspective, while highlighting the resiliency they continue to display in order to continue to manage the identified experience(s). My treatment style supports bringing control back to an individuals life using practical solutions.

Shaunte was such a pleasure to work with. I love the way she explains her process and how encouraging she is. She really takes her time to make sure everything is easy to understand, which makes the process much less intimidating. I look forward to more meetings with her.

I have been working myself up to therapy for two years and I think Shaunte was a great first interaction. She’s a very warm and welcoming person who redefines the negative connotation around “therapy”. I’d recommend her to anyone and I’m excited to go through this journey with her as a guide!
