LICSW, 10 years of experience
Hello, I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), currently licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. I received my Master's from Boston College and have more than 10 years of Licensed Clinical Behavioral Health experience. My clinical background derives from psychiatric inpatient, corrections, outpatient services, family/school/ community-based programming, and emergency crisis services. Culturally sensitive, I am always eager to serve diversified backgrounds, ages and communities.
In our first session together, my initial goal is to give the individual a sense of my clinical style, through exploring my background briefly as well as the treatment styles I utilize during sessions. Following this, I will request that the individual provide me with some background around what interest them in therapy at this time. We will explore barriers related to presented concerns, in addition to identifying realistic goals that could be implemented on day one. I encourage clients to ask questions and share at their comfort level. If there is a question that brings discomfort, giving yourself permission to say "no" or "I am not ready to explore that" is welcomed.
Throughout my experiences, I have worked with several diversified populations, which I take great pride in. These opportunities have allowed me to gain first hand experience in truly understanding the value in meeting others where they are. This has been one of the greatest lessons I've embraced as a Clinician.
An ideal client would be someone who may be in a space of ambivalence, seeking options to create or sustain change within their life course. Whether an individuals presenting concerns stem from personal, professional, or environmental factors, we will work together to explore strategies that will promote balance in better managing the identified concerns.
Utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & a Strength Based/Solution Focused model, I focus on challenging an individuals perspective, while highlighting the resiliency they continue to display in order to continue to manage the identified experience(s). My treatment style supports bringing control back to an individuals life using practical solutions.

After just one session, I have hope. For the first time in a very very long history of therapy, I felt validated. What I am feeling is not who I am, its a trauma response. I feel like for the first time I have found a therapist that recognizes that and will help me put in the work to not cope, but to change how my brain perceives things. Where I am not is not where I need to stay.

She did an amazing job of making sure I understood the kind of help she would be providing me and what we would be doing. She was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about what she does.
