I am an independently licensed clinical social worker in Washington and Oregon. I have four years of experience as a therapist and over a year of experience in independent clinical practice. Coming to this career later in life, I bring valuable life experience, perspective, and a commitment to lifelong learning to my work. I am passionate about social justice, respecting individual differences, and recognizing the unique strengths each person brings. My previous experience as a teacher and a social worker has given me the opportunity to work with people from many backgrounds. It is deeply important to me, , to honor our differences while recognizing our shared humanity, . I am passionate about helping people heal from trauma, navigate life transitions, develop greater self-understanding, and cultivate self-compassion. My goal is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where clients can understand themselves and move toward a life that is authentic and fulfilling.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will focus on getting to know you and understanding what has led you to seek therapy. I will gather background information to develop a more complete picture of you as a person, but my primary goal is to learn what is most important to you and what you hope to gain from therapy. The first session is also an opportunity for you to determine whether I am a good fit for your needs. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, and I encourage you to consider whether you feel supported and understood as we begin working together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is collaborative and strengths-based. I provide space for reflection, processing, and making sense of your experiences. While I have practical tools and coping skills that can be incorporated when helpful, they are not usually the primary focus of our work together. My goal is to help clients develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of themselves while identifying thoughts, patterns, and experiences that may be getting in the way of living the life they want. Together, we work toward greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and meaningful change that is authentic and sustainable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship concerns, caregiving stress, and challenges related to self-worth or identity. Many of my clients are thoughtful, self-aware individuals who have learned to be highly responsible for others but struggle to prioritize their own needs. I help clients gain insight into their experiences, build effective coping strategies, and move toward lives that feel more authentic, connected, and fulfilling. I provide services in both English and Spanish.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use CBT to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful patterns, build coping skills, and develop healthier responses to life's challenges. I adapt CBT techniques to each client's unique needs and goals.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I provide culturally sensitive therapy by considering each client's cultural background, values, identities, and lived experiences as important parts of the therapeutic process. I work to create an inclusive, respectful space and tailor treatment to align with each client's unique needs and worldview.

Gender-affirming therapy

I provide gender-affirming therapy by offering a supportive, respectful space for clients to explore and express their gender identity. While I am not a specialist in this area, I am committed to affirming care, ongoing learning, and collaborating with clients in a way that honors their identities, experiences, and goals.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore mixed feelings about change and strengthen motivation for reaching their goals. Through a collaborative, client-centered approach, I help clients identify their own values, build confidence, and make meaningful changes at their own pace.

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach to help clients identify and build upon their existing abilities, resources, and resilience. Rather than focusing solely on problems or symptoms, I work collaboratively with clients to recognize their strengths and use them to support growth, healing, and goal attainment.
