I have been practicing for over 10 years, and it has been my passion from the beginning. I obtained my Master's degree at the University of Southern California (USC) with concentrations in Health and Mental Health. Working in mental health comes from a deep desire to help others. I have always been curious and passionate about learning how the mind works and what drives certain behaviors. I am continually inspired by human resilience and feel privileged to be in a field that allows me to support others as they explore their identities, discover themselves, deepen self-understanding, and heal from intergenerational wounds and unhelpful patterns.
I genuinely believe that you as the client are the expert of your own life and I am here to guide you through your individual journey and human growth. I provide a comforting, compassionate, and free of judgment space. I take a collaborative approach, helping you gain deeper insight into yourself and the underlying factors that may be contributing to life’s challenges. Together, we work towards creating changes that foster a more fulfilling life. In our work together, I meet you where you are and provide guidance as you move forward.
Hi, I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist. I received two Masters from Golden Gate University San Francisco. I have been working in community mental health for over 12 years. I help adolescent children, teens, young and older adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and other related life stressors such as grief, adjustment challenges, family issues and career decision making
I approach therapy with warmth, honesty, and compassion. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported enough to explore difficult experiences while also feeling gently challenged to grow. I care deeply about creating a therapeutic relationship where people feel respected, understood, and able to approach difficult parts of their lives with curiosity rather than judgment.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy paddle boarding in the summer, long conversations with loved ones over a leisurely meal, and just about anything related to musical theater. I’m also a big fan of ceramics and afternoon naps—two things that help me stay grounded and appreciate small moments of creativity and rest.
I’m Johanna. I work with creative people, and with those who are working to heal, transition, and evolve from things that have hurt them. My approach blends traditional talk therapy with deeper work. With the use of Brainspotting and Jungian interventions, because real change rarely happens at the surface, we create deep meaningful change. When we're willing to go underneath, to the place where the old story lives, we can heal it and create room to become something new.
Are anxiety, depression, or other emotional issues affecting your well-being? You don't have to navigate these challenges alone. As your therapist, I offer individual therapy services tailored to your unique needs and goals. Together, we'll create a safe and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment.
My approach is personalized and collaborative. We'll work hand in hand to design a treatment plan that fits you like a glove. Whether you're dealing with specific issues like grief or trauma or simply aiming to improve your overall mental health and well-being, I'm here to help you every step of the way.
Cultural competence is at the core of my practice. Having worked with diverse populations, I understand the importance of respecting and valuing individual differences. I bring a deep appreciation for cultural backgrounds and experiences, ensuring that our therapeutic journey is inclusive, empathetic, and culturally sensitive.
Through individual therapy, you'll gain profound insights into yourself and your emotions. I'll provide you with valuable coping skills and strategies to manage stress and anxiety, empowering you to thrive in the face of challenges. Together, we'll work through any negative beliefs or patterns of behavior that may be holding you back from living your best life.
I truly believe in the power of therapy to transform lives, and I can't wait to be a part of your journey. Don't wait any longer to take that first step towards a happier, healthier you. Let's connect for a consultation, and together, we'll explore how individual therapy can help you overcome the obstacles in your life and unlock your true potential.
