I have been working with people from all walks of life, I offer guidance to those feeling stuck, hopeless, or helpless. If you feel as if no matter how hard you try, your mind continues to bombard you with negative feedback, I can help you. Through a methodical approach to thought identification, you can learn to pinpoint the thoughts that trigger negative emotions and keep you trapped in a cycle of despair. My goal is to empower you to reclaim control over your mental state and find meaning in your life. Together, we will work towards a brighter and more fulfilling future. I can also teach you how to live a meaningful life based on your values and goals. If you are suffering from PTSD, I can help by providing you with the tools needed to challenge the thoughts that you may have developed as a result of your trauma. If your relationship is suffering due to PTSD symptoms, I can help you develop healthy coping mechanisms that can improve your relationship. I began my career working with undocumented single mothers in need of financial skills to support their families. From there I worked with the undocumented population helping them secure resources for their basic needs and empowering them to become self-sufficient. I also worked with the LGBTQIA+ community in three different roles: providing psychoeducation to newly HIV diagnosed individuals and their families, as a case manager providing resources for newly HIV diagnosed undocumented citizens, and finally, as a clinician providing individual therapy for those with depression, anxiety, or PTSD. Later in my career, I worked with the Forensic Juvenile Department providing in-home family therapy to families involved in the criminal justice system. I have also worked with individuals suffering from personality disorders. Currently, I provide individual and group therapy.

Chronic pain is a false alarm. "Try putting ice on it. Try putting heat on it. Try sleeping on a giant magnet. Just ignore it." Some things are impossible to ignore. Pain is designed to be unignorable. When your body tells you there's a problem, it makes sure you listen. Pain helps protect our bodies from harm. Pain is like a conversation between body and brain. But as in any conversation, sometimes there are misunderstandings. You want your life back. Pain Reprocessing Therapy can help. I had suffered with chronic pain for many years, until Pain Reprocessing Therapy cured my chronic pain. I am excited to bring this relief to others! In 15 sessions or less, let me offer hope, and a way out. You have been ignored, gaslighted, and drained of your cash over many years of unsuccessful remedies for your pain. Pain Reprocessing Therapy targets learned neural pathways in the brain, and reverses them. If you have a diagnosed or suspected mental health condition, PRT is still effective.

Hello, I was born and raised in Stockton, California. I enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps at the age of 17 and in 1997, after 25 yeas of service, I retired from the Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. After retiring from the Marine Corps, I worked as a Farrier (Horseshoer), as well as a structural welder (Ironworker), as those were the most marketable skill that I had. I came to a point where old injuries came back to haunt me and I could no longer walk (several years later, thanks to a surgery through the VA, I can walk again; thankful for that). At this point, I changed professions and out of a desire to work with veterans, I returned to school, accomplishing all that was necessary to become a licensed counselor. I spent another career working for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically as a counselor in the Readjustment Counseling Service (Vet Center). I recently retired from the Vet Center and now I work part-time here with Grow Therapy. As a retired Marine senior staff Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) and disabled combat veteran myself, the Vet Center was the perfect job. Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling to combat veterans and provide counseling to survivors of military sexual trauma (MST). Vet Centers also provide group counseling, bereavement counseling and couples counseling when this is determined to be of support to the veteran. Readjustment counseling many times consists of treating/addressing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), I.e., anxiety, depression, exaggerated startle response, hypervigilance, sleep disturbance, etc. Many veterans go on to work as first responders and working with many first responders as well as medical personal, has provided me with a great deal of additional experience.

What childhood wounds are manifesting in ways that no longer serve you? As an adult child-survivor, I hold a deep passion for those who have made the vulnerable choice to heal from the pains of their childhood. One life chapter at a time. Remember: The trauma that happened to you is not your fault, but what a gift to give yourself to lean into the responsibility of healing from it. Inner-Child Work framework includes: Narrative sharing, trauma and attachment work, CBT, ACT, experience validation, the practice of letting go, the practice of reclaiming, and accountability work.

Search therapists by insurance

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by California rather than a city like LA?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
