New to Grow
In my practice, I provided psychotherapy to diverse adult populations experiencing Perinatal Mental Health Concerns (Pregnancy, Postpartum Anxiety/Depression, BirthTrauma), Anxiety, Panic symptoms, Depression, Stress, Life Transitions/Adjustment Difficulties, Anger Management, Relationship Issues, Family challenges, Women's Issues. I provide evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Approaches and Solution-Focused Therapy in both Japanese and English.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and start building a therapeutic relationship. We will discuss what brings you to therapy and goals you hope to accomplish through your treatment. I will also ask questions about your history, current emotional well-being, daily functioning, relationships/family and stressors. This will help me gain a better understanding of your experience and determine how I can best assist you.
I create a warm, safe, collaborative and entirely non-judgemental space where we can untangle how you are feelings and what you are struggling with.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, chronic depression, life transition, and the emotional challenges that can arise during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood. I have a special interest in supporting individuals during pregnancy and the postpartum period, including those experiencing postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety, birth trauma, fertility challenges, or transition to becoming a parent. As a bilingual therapist providing therapy in both English and Japanese, I also enjoy working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly those seeking culturally responsive care that recognizes the influence of family, identify, and cultural values on emotional well-being.
