Welcome, I'm Cheryl Polyudhapoom, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Psychotherapist in the state of California, & am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington. I've started my own private practice because I’m committed to helping adults learn how to build healthier relationships, be free from trauma, & to overall learn how to manage their mental health. My work focuses on targeting negative behaviors, habits, and thoughts. I believe in utilizing multiple modalities in treatment to help clients reach their goals, but my primary approach in treatment is through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). If you’re struggling to cope with grief and loss, I can help you navigate these feelings & offer a path forward. I provide a safe & welcoming environment so you can share your thoughts & fears freely, & I am here to offer you support, comfort, & hope in moving forward. I have worked with children, youth, & families involved with the foster care system as a CPS Social Worker for 15 years. I have also worked at a local non-profit mental health agency providing individual therapy to children & adults. Having lived in multiple cities in California, I have been able to gain experience in working with various populations & communities in Los Angeles, San Jose, Monterey, & Bakersfield, CA. Life isn't always easy. So don't do it alone. In-Person & Tele-Therapy available. Education & License: Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington. Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a Minor in Asian American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Master's Degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Children, Youth, and Families from San Jose State University.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session I will spend the first half asking you general background information to get a foundation and some context as to what we will be working on and discussing during therapy. During the second half I like to discuss why you're seeking therapy currently and then dive into things.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I pride myself on being able to create a safe and welcoming environment with people starting starting at our first session. Starting therapy with someone you don't know can be very intimidating, so I try to do what I can to ensure that the experience is one that is easy, comfortable, and safe.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Adults 18+ are my ideal patients. However, I've worked with PT's as young as 8 years old and up to 90 years old. I currently prefer working with adults only at this time.
