I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist based in California with 20 years of experience practicing, researching, teaching, and supervising in the field of clinical psychology. I have had the privilege of supporting many adults in their efforts to overcome challenges arising during times of life transition such as starting/graduating school, beginning/changing careers, coping with the death of a loved one (including reproductive losses), relationship challenges/changes, and unexpected traumatic events in life. These challenges may include depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, substance misuse, and grief among others. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I will approach our work together through a holistic lens aiming to offer hope for healing as well as discovery of meaning and fulfillment in life. Let's work together on developing a clear direction to help you live a life that you feel is worth living, however you define it!
Above all, I aim to support my clients in developing a sense of hope in our first session. Positive lasting change is not only possible but highly likely with your personal investment in the therapeutic process. During our first session, we will get to know each other, discuss why you are seeking therapy, and begin developing goals for therapy uniquely tailored to you.
I have found great success working with clients that are inexperienced with therapy or have not had the experience they were hoping for in previous attempts with therapy. I strive to be a "mirror with heart" in my therapy work providing the warmth, transparency, and authenticity necessary for facilitating lasting positive change.
I love working with young adults seeking to figure out the first or next steps of their adult lives. My clients are eager to pursue their educational, career, and relationship journeys but may not have the direction or tools to realize their dreams. They often feel confused, overwhelmed, and even stuck or paralyzed when it comes to the decisions that lie ahead.
I believe psychotherapy should affirm and work with the whole person - holistically addressing their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, physiological systems, and their spirit (however the individual defines that). For this reason, I approach treatment through a lens of integral psychology weaving together a range of cultural, psychological, socioeconomic, biological, spiritual, and behavioral perspectives aiming to offer hope for healing, increased mindfulness, and social and cultural evolution. Rather than adhering strictly to a single treatment method, I strive to provide therapy that is uniquely tailored to your specific needs and preferences drawing from treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
