First session
After our first conversation, I hope you leave feeling grounded, genuinely understood, and confident that we can navigate a clear, supportive path forward.
Strengths
As an experienced therapist, I use a variety of evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and mindfulness practices, to help clients overcome negative thought patterns and behaviors. I take a holistic approach to mental health, addressing both the mind and body.
Ideal clients
Over the course of my practice, I've seen a wide and diverse range of clients in terms of cultural background, gender, age, sexual orientation, military service, and presenting issues. I've learned that meaningful therapy relies on mutual fit, readiness, and trust. My approach is conversational, flexible, confidential, and grounded in clinical insight. I take an eclectic approach that includes supportive listening, interactive feedback, and psychoeducation. Our sessions together will be based on what works for you.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on a simple idea: our thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected. When we run into difficult situations, it’s easy to get caught in negative thought loops—automatically assuming the worst or believing we aren't capable. CBT helps us replace overly critical thought patterns with more realistic, grounded, and compassionate perspectives. Because CBT focuses on skill-building rather than just talking through problems, the habits you develop can stay with you long after therapy ends.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
Solution-Focused Therapy is a goal-directed approach that concentrates on where you want to go, rather than getting stuck in where you’ve been. We focus on discovering what is already working in your life and building on those strengths. Together, we design simple, realistic changes you can make immediately to move closer to your ideal outcome. As therapy progresses, you will have practical action steps, a clearer sense of direction, and renewed confidence in your ability to handle life's challenges.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness-Based Therapy combines traditional therapeutic conversations with simple, practical awareness techniques. It is designed to help you stop stressful thoughts about the past or worries about the future, bringing your focus back to what is happening now. You'll learn to pause, breathe, and choose a calm, deliberate response. Over time, you gain a sense of inner compassion, improved focus, and the ability to stay grounded.
