I am a bilingual (English/Spanish) licensed clinical psychologist. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology, an APA-accredited program, in 2008 and became licensed in 2010. I like to delve deep into our attachment styles developed early in life, and explore how it is impacting our current functioning. I believe, and research shows, that the relationship between the therapist and client is the biggest predictor of change. In light of that, I think the therapeutic process can offer corrective experiences, helping us develop a more secure attachment style to navigate through life with.
The first goal is to develop a good rapport, I'll offer you a safe space to explore whatever topics you bring to therapy. My goal will be to empower you to feel more confident in your ability to navigate through life's difficulties.
I use an eclectic modality approach to treatment which includes attachment-based work, a psychodynamic approach, cognitive behavioral interventions, and family therapy. I am trained in the following evidenced-based practices: Seeking Safety, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Aggression Replacement Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy. I have experience working with clients from all age groups.
I have much experience working with clients who have experienced trauma and I enjoy working with adolescents-young adults as they're finding their way in life.
