Life can be challenging and therapy can feel overwhelming. My hope is to allow you to be seen and heard by simply being you. I specialize in attachment/ relationship concerns, depression, anxiety and trauma. I believe our fundamental human need for safety and connection is often at the core of our emotional struggles, so my interest is to help you navigate those struggles in a compassionate, and nonjudgmental way.
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine if we're a good fit. We’ll start by reviewing the logistics of therapy and establishing informed consent. Then, I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy and what goals you hope to achieve. I believe that meaningful change is built on a strong therapeutic relationship, so it's important that you feel confident in my ability to support you and that your needs align with my areas of expertise.
I utilize a range of evidence-based approaches to support your growth and healing. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps process and alleviate the emotional weight of past traumatic experiences. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) focuses on strengthening emotional connections and communication within your relationships. I also utilize IFS (Internal Family Systems), which is helpful to heal complex PTSD. Together, these therapies provide a holistic toolkit for addressing a variety of challenges and promoting mental and emotional wellness.
My strength as a therapist lies in treating all clients equally regardless of their background, culture, sex, gender, religion, etc. I care about uncovering what makes you- you. I'm interested in reducing the stigma of mental health treatment, and eliminating the concept of “normal”. We all have "issues and problems". That's what makes us human! With this in mind, I hope to make all of my clients feel immensely understood and accepted on a visceral level.
