My name is Clara Herrera. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have my bachelor's degree in Social Ecology from University of California, Irvine. I have my masters in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fullerton. I provided community based mental health services to children, adolescences, young adults and their families in Orange County for seven years.
I aim to help you feel comfortable to share your story so you can overcome the challenges you are facing and make changes to achieve the life you desire. I want you to feel heard and seen. I hope to help you see that you are trying your best and you can do better.
I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment to clients in order to facilitate healing and growth. I provide opportunities for clients to feel seen and heard. I honor a client’s pace and work hard to build a trusting therapeutic relationship.
I am an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) trained therapist. Thru EMDR, I help individuals explore past experiences to heal wounds affecting them in the present. EMDR can help individuals work through feelings of anxiety, sadness, anger, shame, guilt, as well as any unhelpful thoughts or memories that individuals can’t seem to get out of their mind.
