The holidays can intensify grief in ways that catch people off guard. I’ve experienced this myself, and I support adults in North Carolina and New Jersey through virtual therapy focused on grief, loss, and major life transitions. My style is warm, steady, and rooted in compassion. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 15 years of experience, I provide compassionate and culturally responsive care for adults working through grief, trauma, and the emotional weight that life transitions can bring. My goal is to offer a grounding space where you can speak freely, feel supported, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying. My approach blends empathy with evidence-based strategies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and grief-informed practices. In our sessions, we focus on coping tools that help you manage strong emotions, reduce overwhelm, and create small moments of relief during difficult seasons. I tailor each session to your needs, your pace, and what feels most supportive for your healing. I am especially passionate about supporting Black women, Black men, Veterans, and adults of color who often hold invisible emotional burdens or face unique challenges around grief, identity, and resilience. I hold these experiences with cultural humility and deep respect for your story. Healing isn’t about “moving on.” It’s about learning to hold your experiences with more balance, clarity, and hope. Whether you’re grieving someone you love, trying to navigate an unexpected transition, or feeling emotionally weighed down, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and support.

Through both personal and professional experience, I understand how overwhelming life can feel when you know something needs to change but aren’t sure where to start. It can be scary and overwhelming, but with guidance it’s possible to make changes that will feel exciting and empowering. I am skilled working with teens and young adults who are just starting to explore themselves and their place in the world, individuals and families navigating and adjusting to life changes, managing interpersonal relationships, reinventing yourself and managing the expectations you’ve set and finding who you want to be when you grow up. It’s so easy to think that we’re stuck in the situations we find ourselves in but I promise you that you can rewrite your story. Our time together will be an hour in your week where you can drop your mask in a safe space without fear of judgment. By allowing yourself to feel all your feelings we can break down whatever is holding you back to help you to build confidence, find clarity and the direction you’ve been searching for. I’m excited for us to get started.

Hello I often hear clients say, “I don’t even know where to start” when they first begin therapy. I understand that feeling. The first step is to make sense of what’s happened in your life in order to start to tackle the issues and ultimately make some changes. I am a seasoned therapist with 17 years experience helping adult clients find their own inner wisdom and strength to resolve issues in their lives. It feels burdensome to rely on friends and family to help us through difficult life challenges. The greatest joy for me as a therapist is to be able to provide a safe space where clients feel unconditionally accepted and heard without judgement. Therapy is a collaborative process where the client and therapist work together to explore and identify barriers which prevent resolution. I believe that the therapeutic alliance between client and provider is key to a successful outcome. I use psychodynamic, solution focused and client centered approaches to help clients gain insight, identify barriers and foster empowerment to make changes and resolve issues.

As a therapist, I’m passionate about helping people understand themselves on a deeper level and feel more grounded in their lives. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to explore how thoughts, emotions, and relationships influence well-being. Together, we’ll identify what’s holding you back, strengthen your coping tools, and create meaningful changes that support greater connection, confidence, and balance.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has dedicated my professional life to the advancement of the human species. What do I mean by the advancement of the human species? Well, no one ever taught us how to be mindful of thought patterns; to be aware of our own scars and biases, no one gave us an instruction book when it comes to dealing with our emotional life and the emotional lives of others. Scary, those big feelings can be. Unless, you have a plan. That is where therapy comes in. We work together to develop plans to assure you accomplish the goals you set for yourself.

Hello! My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can process your experiences, deepen your understanding of yourself, and explore areas where healing is needed. I take a person-centered approach, meaning you lead the way in your journey while I follow—offering guidance, support, and tools as needed. I offer EMDR, IFS, CBT, and other modalities, tailoring our work to what feels most helpful and empowering for you. I also place a strong emphasis on connecting the mind and body, as many of us experience a disconnect between the two. For those who are interested, I incorporate elements of energy therapy—drawing on yogic principles, Usui Reiki, and other approaches—to support your healing process. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and experiences, and I offer specific support for those seeking culturally sensitive therapy, honoring your unique story and identity throughout our work together.

With over 40 years' simultaneous experience as a therapist and social worker, I offer practice knowledge combined with working-class life experience. Your change goals will guide our work together. My job is to suggest different choices in the way you think and act in the areas of your life where you are experiencing discomfort. My style is a very warm yet direct one: Once you are comfortable with me, I won't hesitate to point-out ways in which you might unknowingly self sabotage or contribute to your stated problems. There will be alternatives suggested, and you are free to try-on new behavior patterns that align with your values and lifestyle. Change can be scary; it can also greatly improve your life's quality. For most of my career, I've offered counseling in-person while simultaneously working in social work, where I provided more concrete services. Now that I've made the decision to work from home and only part-time, I'm excited to solely focus on offering therapy services fully online.

I am an empathic, supportive therapist who utilizes therapeutic tools to empower my clients to lead more fulfilling lives. Life can feel overwhelming—whether you're caught in anxiety's grip, weighed down by depression, navigating a major transition, or just feeling stuck. Maybe you've been pushing through for so long that you've lost touch with what actually matters to you. I get it, and I'm here to help you find your way through. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 10 years of experience, licensed in New Jersey, Oregon, and Vermont. I've worked with people facing anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, life transitions, trauma, and the everyday stress of just trying to keep it together. What I've learned is this: there's no one-size-fits-all solution. What works is building something together that actually fits your life. Here's what therapy with me looks like: We start where you are—not where you think you "should" be. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based techniques, but I adapt everything to what makes sense for you. Some sessions might be about developing practical coping skills. Others might be about processing difficult emotions or unpacking patterns that aren't serving you anymore. I won't give you generic advice or push you toward goals that aren't yours. Instead, I'll help you tap into strengths you might not realize you have, challenge thoughts that keep you stuck, and build a life that feels more authentic and manageable. What you can expect: A judgment-free space where you can be honest about what you're going through. Collaboration—you're the expert on your life; I bring the tools and perspective. Real, actionable strategies that help you feel better, not just talk about feeling better. You deserve support. You deserve to feel more like yourself. Let's get started.

Search therapists by insurance

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by New Jersey rather than a city like Newark?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across New Jersey from Jersey City to Paterson! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in New Jersey.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Peer Relationships?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Peer Relationships, is filtering therapists in New Jersey that work with patients with similar concerns.

What are the "Clients say I’m" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
