Hi, I’m Joe. I’ve worked in the mental health field for 27 years across substance use treatment, outpatient care, and hospital settings. I’ve supported individuals and families through crisis, transition, and long-term growth. I work well with young adults, adults, and families who are navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, or major life changes. I also have extensive experience working with men who may struggle to express emotions directly and instead feel stuck in withdrawal, irritability, or self-doubt. As a veteran, I understand the mindset and pressures that can come with military life. Across all of my work, I aim to provide a grounded, steady presence where honesty, insight, and meaningful change can take place.

I value authenticity, empathy, and self-awareness, both for myself, my clients, and as a critical part of the therapeutic process (I also take advantage of the healing power of laughter whenever possible!). I aim to normalize and validate my clients’ experiences without judgment, and above all, provide the most basic of human needs: to feel seen and heard. My name is Stephanie (or Stevie, either is fine) and I have been providing therapy in NJ exclusively via telehealth for about the last 5 years (prior to that, in person). I have a deep passion and respect for the power of therapy to change lives, which I have been privileged to witness in my work with clients, as well as in my personal life, both through the consistent use of therapy as part of my own self-care, as well as having spent the last 20 years raising two children with special needs. If you have been struggling with symptoms of depression or anxiety, particularly if they are related to a traumatic experience, I would love the opportunity to work with you to reduce your symptoms and help you experience a present that is not overshadowed by your past. I love working with women ages 20 to 30-something who are still in academia or just starting out in their careers, but also love working with women of any age. I frequently work with survivors of child sexual abuse, as well as those struggling with issues related to self-worth, but work with other conditions as well.

Let me guess: You've been thinking about therapy for a while now. Maybe months, maybe years, but something kept stopping you. Too busy, too expensive, "it's not that bad yet," or maybe just the fear of opening up to a stranger who might judge you or not really get it. Here's what I want you to know: You don't need to wait until things get worse, you don't need permission to ask for help, and you don't have to figure this out alone. That's why I'm here. As a board-certified bilingual therapist, veteran, and founder of www.TalkHealRepeat.com , I've spent over 10 years supporting thousands of clients through trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions that once felt impossible, from crisis units and corrections facilities to refugee shelters and quiet therapy rooms, working with chronic mental illness, personality disorders, abuse, trauma, ADHD, OCD, addictions, and some of the hardest moments of their lives. Here's what I know for sure: healing doesn't require perfection, it requires honesty and someone who actually gets it. You're not broken, you're dealing with hard things, and you deserve help that feels supportive, not cold, not judgmental, not like one more thing you're supposed to "fix" about yourself. 🔺If you can’t find a time on my calendar, message me. I’ll move things around, lose a lunch break, get creative. You showing up here already tells me everything I need to know about you.

I have worked in mental health for over 20 years. I received my BA in Psychology in 1994 and my Masters in Social Work in 1997. Since then, I have worked in various settings including the Behavioral Health System of Philadelphia, numerous behavioral health facilities which include psychiatric units, detox and rehabs, college counseling settings and in assisted living/nursing facilities with older adults. In 2013, I started an in person private practice and then made the jump to telehealth during the pandemic. I find that telehealth is much more accessible and convenient for clients as we are still able to do amazing work together! Do you ever feel stuck? Do you feel like nobody understands what you are going through? Do you feel like you have burdened friends and family with your worries even though you know they love you? Do you feel like you have the answers but nobody around you is listening? You do not have to have a major mental health diagnosis to go to therapy. You may be going through a life transition or having trouble communicating with others. You might be surrounded by others with deeper issues which is affecting your mental health. Or you might be suffering from anxiety, depression or past unresolved trauma. You might have disordered eating, obsessive-compulsive tendencies or an urge to use alcohol or drugs to self-medicate your pain. You might be coping in ways that aren’t healthy but that is how you learned to cope. I can help you navigate whatever place you are in and help to elevate you to a healthier space where you feel happier and more in tune with yourself. There are numerous reasons why people come to therapy. Just know that with me, you will be in a judgement free zone and I will utilize my many years of experience to assist you to getting to a better place. I work with anyone over 16 years old. I have specialized experience working with college aged clients and the older adult population. I have a long history of working with those from the LGBTQIA+ population as well. I look forward to meeting and connecting with you!

Hi, I’m Lauren! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the owner of Ride the Wave Counseling. Thank you for being here! To be self-aware and recognize that you need help is a strength that should be acknowledged. Taking the next step and finding a therapist can feel nerve-wracking and uncomfortable, and while making the decision to start therapy can be hard, finding an approachable and empathetic therapist should not be. Although it’s my job to support and guide my clients through therapy, it’s my passion to empower them, encourage their growth, and help them work toward the goals that are important to them. By establishing a strong rapport and a safe environment, the therapeutic relationship becomes supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental without effort. I believe therapy works best when clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and comfortable showing up as themselves. My approach is warm, collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded in authenticity. I strive to create a space where clients can be honest about the parts of themselves they may feel embarrassed, overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck with—without fear of criticism or shame. I work with adults navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem struggles, identity exploration, emotional overwhelm, and patterns that no longer feel helpful or sustainable. Many of my clients are insightful and self-aware but find themselves overthinking, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or repeating cycles they want to better understand and change. My style blends practical skill-building with deeper emotional exploration. I draw from approaches including CBT, DBT, person-centered, existential, and motivational techniques to help clients increase self-awareness, develop healthier coping strategies, improve communication and boundaries, and better understand the underlying experiences shaping their current struggles. I value humor, honesty, curiosity, and creating a therapeutic relationship that feels human, not overly clinical or rigid. As a queer and affirming therapist, I’m especially passionate about creating a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ clients and anyone who has felt misunderstood, pressured to mask parts of themselves, or uncertain about where they fit. Whether you are looking for insight, coping tools, emotional support, or meaningful change, therapy can be a place to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

My journey into therapy began with a desire to help the hurting individuals I worked with in a group home, and a genuine passion for helping others find strength through life’s most difficult moments. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people facing a wide range of challenges—experiences that have shown me just how powerful and transformative therapy can be. These moments have only deepened my commitment to walking alongside others on their path to healing. I’m continually inspired by the belief that every person holds the capacity for growth, resilience, and change. We can change and heal. Sometimes we just need a little help along the way. I treat adults age 18 and up.

I found my career as a therapist as a secondary one which has provided exposure to multiple therapeutic settings. My start in community mental health gifted me with a well-rounded, diverse level of training and exposure to the human experience. More importantly, my background reinforced the importance and power of the therapeutic relationship. I am curious, empathetic, affirming, and compassionate. My sense of humor often finds its way into our sessions (as do my dogs, if you're so inclined!). Together, we will map your treatment, so that you are clear as to what to expect, regardless of the intervention. We start at the place you are ready, reinforcing the strengths and resiliency that you already exhibit. Together, we build from there to address what you came in for.. Therapy is hard work, but it is also profoundly full, rewarding and empowering. It's important for me to honor both the challenges and rewards.

Hi, I’m a Indo-Caribbean-American therapist who understands how hard it is to talk about emotions when you’ve been raised to suppress them. Growing up, I was told that feelings weren’t valid—and that mental health struggles were a sign of weakness. Now, I help people unlearn those harmful messages and create space for healing. In my practice, I challenge the stigma around therapy in Caribbean and immigrant communities and offer a space where you don’t have to explain your culture—you can just be. Let’s gaff about what’s going on and explore whether we’re a good fit.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Depression, is filtering therapists in New Jersey that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
