Hi, I'm Assal. I've been a therapist for 13 years, helping young adults and adults navigate life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem challenges, relationship concerns, and the stress that comes with balancing life's many demands. Many of my clients come to therapy during periods of change or uncertainty. They may be starting college, launching a career, navigating dating and relationships, working through unhealthy relationship patterns, adjusting to parenthood, caring for family members, or questioning what they want from the next chapter of life. Others feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves and are looking to regain a sense of confidence, direction, and purpose. My goal is to provide a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about what's really going on. Together, we'll explore the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, while building on your strengths and helping you move toward the life you want.
In our first session, we’ll start with an intake and a conversation about what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’re hoping to get out of it. I’ll ask about your goals so I can get a clear sense of what support might be most helpful for you and what approach or modalities may fit best, since everyone is different. This session is really about getting to know you, including your story, what’s been going on, and what you’d like to feel different. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out. We’ll take our time, and you can share at your own pace. During this time, I will also answer any questions you may have to ensure that you feel I am a good fit for you!
I utilize a strength-based approach and adjust my treatment methods based on individual needs. I enjoy using cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered approaches.
My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. Therapy with me is conversational and genuine. I'll offer support and encouragement while also helping you gain insight, challenge unhelpful patterns, and develop a stronger sense of self. Whether you're navigating a major life transition, struggling with self-doubt, or wanting to feel more like yourself again, therapy can help you find greater clarity, confidence, and balance.
I enjoy working with college-aged adults, young adults, and adults navigating life transitions and trying to make sense of where they are in life. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain as they move through changes like starting college, launching a career, navigating relationships, becoming parents, or adjusting to new responsibilities in midlife. I especially enjoy supporting clients struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, relationship patterns, or feeling disconnected from themselves and wanting to feel more grounded and like themselves again. I also work with people who want to better understand and shift unhelpful patterns in relationships. I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and want to better understand what’s getting in the way of feeling more steady, confident, and aligned in their lives.
