Laura Davis
Hi, I’m Laura, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should be a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable being yourself, heard, and understood. I work collaboratively with adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and everyday stressors. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward greater confidence, clarity, and emotional well-being.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another in a comfortable, supportive, and nonjudgmental space. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to share everything at once. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals and creating a path forward that feels right for you.
Strengths
I bring warmth, empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to understand each client’s unique experience. I create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves while also offering honest feedback, encouragement, and practical strategies. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, helping clients recognize their abilities, gain new perspectives, and feel empowered to create meaningful change.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is an adult who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or navigating a challenging season of life. They may be experiencing relationship or family concerns, life transitions, work-related stress, difficulty setting boundaries, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of their next steps. I enjoy working with clients who are open to self-reflection and ready to better understand themselves, build on their strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, and work toward greater balance, confidence, and emotional well-being.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they may be affecting your emotions and choices, and develop healthier ways of thinking and responding. I also incorporate practical coping strategies that you can use outside of sessions to manage stress, anxiety, and life’s challenges more effectively.
Psychodynamic
I use psychodynamic therapy to help clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and emotional patterns may influence their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in the present. Together, we work to identify recurring patterns, increase self-awareness, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships. This insight can help you make healthier choices and create meaningful, lasting change.
Strength-Based
I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build upon the abilities, resilience, and resources they already possess. Rather than focusing only on challenges, we identify what is working well and use those strengths to support growth and positive change. Together, we’ll build confidence and develop strategies that empower you to navigate life’s challenges.
