I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has dedicated my professional life to the advancement of the human species. What do I mean by the advancement of the human species? Well, no one ever taught us how to be mindful of thought patterns; to be aware of our own scars and biases, no one gave us an instruction book when it comes to dealing with our emotional life and the emotional lives of others. Scary, those big feelings can be. Unless, you have a plan. That is where therapy comes in. We work together to develop plans to assure you accomplish the goals you set for yourself.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session you can expect to answer questions, ask questions, I will be gathering background information needed also, we will discuss your current life situation and how I may be of assistance to you moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Given all the years I have been in practice I think it is safe to say, "You will not shock me". I have heard just about everything and have experience identifying what is the feul source to problematic behaviors or emotions, work with you to activate and motivate yourself to develop a step by step plan of measureable steps to complete to achieve your goal.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with individuals 18 years and older. I generally find that most people enter therapy when a change happens. This can be positive or negative. It did one thing though; it knocked you out of your "comfort zone" and now you don't feel so great. Often these changes are the catalyst to some of the most productive, healthy changes an individual can make. Change is not a negative thing it can be a new job, school or baby but it is still a major change, and it still is disruptive to you emotionally.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

Building on a person's strengths gives us the opportunity to assist you to identify your strengths and use them in new ways possibly. We can use a new response to a situation. As long as we respect one another's experience we can aide in the resolution of any unwanted emotions or possibly change your perspective about things that are no longer impacting you positively. Our goal is that your work all culminates in the changes you wish to see in your life and your being, leaving you to live the life you designed.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Knowledge is power and with CBT you can gain much power over your perceptions. The way we view the world all evolved around us and in our heart and minds we want change but we "feel stuck, over-think, obsess, worry, and generally stress ourselves out. I have found CBT extremely helpful with all types of conditions, but it helps greatly with recovery from just about anything.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In the years I have practiced one thing is definite. No change happens unless you think you need to change. I am powerless. I cannot change anyone. You do the work for yourself. I am just along to support you and help you navigate your way through your emotional life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Using an eclectic blend of the above modalities, or a patchwork of tips, tricks, and skills, we build an individualized care plan with all the coping strategies needed to progress on your journey. Together we will work to assure you are prepared for life and the issues that come with it by being prepared through practice and mindful reflection on situations and your reactions in real time.
