About me

You may be in a season of life where you find yourself thinking, "I don't know who I am anymore," "I don't know what I need," or simply, "I don't know what comes next." Maybe your relationships feel harder than they used to, you're struggling to feel motivated or fulfilled, or you've spent so much time caring for everyone else that you've lost touch with yourself along the way. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with individuals navigating relationship challenges, identity shifts, life transitions, anxiety, and those "I don't know" seasons where you know something needs to change but aren't quite sure where to begin. Together, we can explore the patterns that are keeping you stuck, strengthen your relationships and communication, reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have gotten lost along the way, and help you move toward a life that feels more like your own. I have a particular passion for working with women throughout motherhood and the many transitions that come with it. From pregnancy and postpartum to adjusting to a new identity, changing relationships, balancing roles, and wondering where you fit into all of it. Motherhood can bring love and joy while also feeling overwhelming, isolating, and unfamiliar. I support moms throughout the perinatal and postpartum periods, as well as women simply trying to navigate the emotional complexities of becoming and being a mother. When I’m not in session, I’m usually spending time with my two children and enjoying the everyday moments of family life. I love baking, trying new recipes, getting outside, and finding time to slow down and recharge.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Therapy with me is a space where you don't have to have everything figured out. You can show up in the messy middle-the uncertainty, the relationship struggles, the lack of motivation, the identity shifts, and the questions about who you are becoming. I lead with empathy, a sense of humor, and a genuine belief that connection matters. My approach is warm, collaborative, and supportive, while also helping you challenge patterns, build insight, and take meaningful steps toward feeling more connected to yourself and the people who matter most to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With 9 years of clinical experience providing outpatient therapy, I bring warmth, humor, and genuine connection into my work while drawing from evidence-based practices. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to you. Clients often tell me they appreciate that therapy with me feels safe, supportive, and practical while still offering meaningful insight and tools for lasting change. I believe therapy is about more than symptom relief. It’s a space to better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen your relationships, reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have gotten lost along the way, and create meaningful change. Whether you’re navigating motherhood, a changing relationship, a major life transition, or simply trying to find yourself again, you don’t have to know exactly where you’re going to begin. Sometimes, “I don’t know” is exactly where the work starts.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with clients who are ready to put their best foot forward, even if they’re unsure where to start, because taking action is the first step toward change. I especially connect with clients who value a collaborative approach, where we work together to uncover strengths, explore challenges, and create meaningful growth at their own pace and build confidence.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck, and develop practical strategies to create meaningful change.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore their own reasons for change while honoring their autonomy and readiness. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I help them identify their values, clarify what they want, work through ambivalence, and build confidence in taking meaningful steps forward.

Psychodynamic

I use a psychodynamic approach to explore the deeper patterns, emotions, and experiences that may shape how clients see themselves and relate to others. Together, we can develop greater insight into recurring patterns and create opportunities for meaningful change.

Interpersonal

I use an interpersonal approach to explore how relationships, life transitions, and changing roles can affect emotional well-being. This can be especially helpful during major transitions such as becoming a parent, changes in relationships, or periods when clients feel disconnected from themselves or others.

First time with Marissa. She was a great listener to my needs and goals while still keeping it to task in a positive way. Supporter of postpartum and motherhood issues. Very easy to talk to and understanding. Will book with her again.

My session with Marissa was better than I could have ever imagined. This is my first time going to therapy as an adult, and so I was a bit nervous as to what it entails. Marissa was so warm and open from the second we started the call, which made me feel so comfortable to be myself and open up with no holding back. She really listens and provides thoughtful feedback. I highly recommend Marissa for anyone looking for a comfortable & satisfying therapy experience!
