New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina , and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I received a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of South Florida and a post-Master’s degree (EdS) in Marriage and Family Therapy from The College of New Jersey. I have 21 years of direct client experience. This includes individual, couple, family, and group therapy in school based, home based, partial care and outpatient settings. My style is non-judgmental, challenging, sensitive and supportive. It pulls from psychodynamic, Jungian, strength based, person-centered and CBT approaches.
In our first session we will spend time getting to know each other. You get to tell me what brought you in and what you believe will be a postive outcome. We will review your intake paperwork and come up with a plan for working together.
I am outcome focused. I work with clients to get to the root of the challenges, achieve long-term change, regain control, find relief from past experiences, and live authentically.
In order for therapy to be helpful there has to be a good fit between the client and the therapist. I take a strength based approach and use various modalities to facilitate insight, reach personal goals, and process issues. My style is non-judgemental, challenging, sensitive, and supportive. I have worked successfully with clients experiencing mood disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety), relationship issues, life changes and challenges, grief, and with family and friends who love someone with high functioning autism.

I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I tend to start with CBT to help address behaviors getting in the way. Clients are generally happy with this approach and ready to dive deeper into core issues.
Psychodynamic
I don't believe that behavior change will sustain without exploring how past experiences and the unconscious mind are shaping current behaviors.
Strength-Based
Once exploring behaviors and core underlying root causes then we can collaboratively focus on internal resources, resilience and potential to recognize and build on existing strengths.
Couples Counseling
In the course of relationships (couples, friends, family) changes and transitions are common, additionally, we all bring the past: family of origin issues, previous relationships, etc. to our current relationships. It's important to explore those issues and recognize how they are positively or negatively impacting the current relationships. I believe from the time we are born we're part of a 'group' and our view of the world and our subsequent behaviors are shaped by those groups. I have an EdS in Marriage and Family Therapy... let's see which of those influences are getting in the way of your relationships.
