I am Ketty - licensed clinical therapist. Also a Black female and first generation American of Caribbean descent - if you know, you know. And I am here for all your stories because they deserve to be heard, and you deserve to be seen. In the last few years, I have had the opportunity to practice in diverse settings and at various levels of care, and I have found myself the most at home and energized supporting clients on their journey to self-discovery. I have had first hand experience with the challenges and added barriers that one may encounter simply existing as a person of color: at work, at school, and at home. From the generations of unresolved trauma, to the attachment ruptures and dysfunctional family dynamics to the endless systemic challenges, there needs to be a safe space for healing.  This is why this work is important: to break the harmful cycles, to make sure your pain is no longer overlooked or ignored simply because "you are strong".  Glow Up came to be from a passion of mine to educate, heal and empower others to embrace their whole life story. An opportunity to refine the values and boundaries that allow you to experience the beauty of relationships on your terms, and reconcile the painful experiences and devastating memories into intentional, purposeful and "whole" living.  Using a trauma-informed approach as well as attachment based and emotion focused interventions, we work together to identify your needs and your goals, and develop a personalized treatment plan that works for you. I am committed to providing you with the space to heal and thrive, to make use of humor and compassion, and to remain authentic and present every step of the way.

I view my clients holistically, as people are inherently dynamic with many facets that make them up. Just like many of you, I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, a partner, and so much more. Whether it is in my personal or professional life, I have always wanted to help people achieve their best lives and create the most fruitful relationships. I came into this field over 10 years ago and can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed working with all of my clients everyday since. I have worked in different areas of mental health some including residential facilities with women struggling with severe eating disorders, private practice with individual, couples, children and families struggling with anxiety, depression and relationship issues, as well as, in a community mental health telehealth start up managing a team of therapists and working with crisis situations. I am born and raised in Miami, Florida and have had the opportunity to work with clients of different cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic status. I am now licensed in two states, Florida and Maryland, and hope to expand to more states to widen my reach to clients in need of my services. presleycounseling.com https://instagram.com/presleycounseling

Jason has experience working with males with a variety of presenting concerns, such as substance use, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, and trauma. Jason earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in 2020. He gives a lot of feedback--not-like what you see in the movies. He’s a dog-person and mixes-up how he takes his coffee--but it's usually an Americano.

My name is Willard and I am a licensed counselor in several states. My practice primarily focuses on helping others deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I help others to be okay with things that are beyond their control and work with them to establish themselves as the protagonist in their own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.

Are you feeling depressed and anxious? Are you finding your life is in turmoil because you have to make a change? Maybe you are changing careers or jobs, you’re recently divorced, your home is now an empty nest, or you are retiring. These are only a few of life’s transitions that can bring on depression and anxiety. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the therapy I use most often, states that A (Antecedent action or event) + B (our belief about that antecedent action or event) = Consequences, (depression or happiness). If you think of a transition or event (A) as a negative experience (B), you will experience the consequences of your belief, as depression and anxiety (C-negative) or as happiness and excitement (C-positive). Unfortunately, many of us view a transition or change as a bad thing, a time when we are facing the unknown without a map. I would like to help you see change as an opportunity, a time for growth and exploration. Come with me. Together we can make change a positive force for a bright future. please schedule appoints only on the hour.😀

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Maryland rather than a city like Baltimore?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Maryland from Hagerstown to Ocean City! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Maryland.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
