About me

Peace!! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland and I have a passion for uplifting and empowering others and, overall, helping people find clarity and peace in their lives. My approach to therapy is one that centers around building awareness, restoring balance, and empowerment. My hope is that clients walk away with more clarity and an overall feeling of being more equipped to manage stressors and symptoms.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The therapeutic process with me begins with an intake interview where your current symptoms, stressors, and needs are explored. Thereafter we will explore personal goals for therapy that will guide our time together. Additional strategies used include, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an exploration of various mindfulness strategies, and therapy homework is also part of the therapy journey to keep you active in your own growth and engaged in your care.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I'm a thoughtful listener, always looking to understand what is shared, but to also hear what is not being said. In addition to traditional theoretical approaches, I also come from an intuitive space and work hard to help others regain and build on their own self-trust and self-compassion.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My work as a therapist has centered around working with adult women who are looking to overcome unique challenges, including those related to transition, motherhood, and self-esteem. Overall, my mission as a clinician has been to create and nurture therapy relationships that help people overcome life’s challenges while restoring balance and confidence in their lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT has been foundational in much of my work with clients. The way we view the world and ourselves sets the tone for how we behave. In my experience, building from here allows individuals to build a level of awareness that creates space for a natural, more lasting shift in behaviors and habits.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I have worked with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds for the entirety of my career. Being culturally sensitive in my approach to therapy has meant more meaningful connections and understanding of the needs of clients. I know that being culturally sensitive in my work has helped me embrace a level of respect and expertise as I continue to work to tend to the unique needs of clients.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I have learned that the therapy experience is and needs to be different for everyone. This is one approach that I have built on specifically in my work with EAP clients, also in working with clients who initiate therapy support to address a specific need. In my work, I have found that SFBT is not only a concise, targeted approach but also an empowering one.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I continue to use a mindfulness-based approach often in my work with helping clients navigate anxiety. I've found that it is very effective in helping clients build a higher awareness and appreciation of the present moment.

Multicultural

My work has centered greatly around working with adult women from diverse cultural backgrounds. All this with the understanding that individuals from diverse racial and ethnic groups have a unique experience in this country that, unfortunately, tends to result in excessive stress, trauma, and self-esteem issues. Part of the mission of my practice has been to create and nurture therapy relationships that help people overcome these specific challenges while restoring balance and confidence in their lives.
