(he/him)
Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Texas. I received my Masters from the Howard University and have been practicing for 5 years. I help people realize the underlying reasons to their stressful factors and lay out a personalized plan towards the goals they would like achieve. Therapy itself can sometimes feel overwhelming, but I am fully engaged with you through your journey.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help create a personalized treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions, towards your desired goals.
Having worked with people of different age groups and different races, I have come to the realization that everyone responds to stressful situations differently. We also react to treatment differently. So my greatest strengths are being open minded, flexible and actively listening to what my clients share.
I love the opportunity of helping people come to the realization that they can take charge of negative thought and actually become the best version of themselves possible.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
With CBT, I have been able to help my client gain understanding of the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Engaging with client in therapy, exercises during session and homework; they have been able to recognize and gain control over automatic thoughts. I use CBT to help client understand their feelings, thought and behavior are all related. A good understanding of this concept leads to the desired change. sitive feelings = positive thoughts = positive behaviors.

My first session with David was really good. Had a very easy conversation with him and he provided a lot of helpful insights that I wasn’t expecting. Looking forward to continuing our conversations!

The strong ties with faith made it super easy to see from my perspective what I need to work on and improve with my thinking. I definitely would describe that initial meeting as eye-opening and will absolutely consider more meetings in the future.
