I started helping those who are seeking to up-level their experiences and shine as their true and authentic selves in 2019. My journey first started in residential treatment facilities where I held space for those in early recovery from substance use disorders. This population ranged from men's only, women's only and LGBTQ+ Many of these individuals also struggled with anxiety, depression, trauma and eating disorders. I have also had the opportunity to work with adolescents at risk of sex trafficking. This work is extremely rewarding as the clients are at an age where they are most influential and willing. I am a deeply spiritual person and practice in the study of yoga and meditation and participate in somatic healings such as Kundalini Light Intergration (KALI) and breathworks. I am also a level two Reiki practitioner (training to become a master) and a certified personal trainer. When I am not holding space for healing, I enjoy being in the outdoors, surfing, climbing, reading and cooking nutritious and fun to eat meals. I hope to continue the journey of providing a safe space for individuals where healing can occur for years to come. I offer sessions both early in the morning (5am - 7am) and later in the evening (6pm - 9pm) to accommodate those who work nine to five or those who just prefer early morning or evening therapy sessions.

You want to change your feelings, thoughts, or behaviors, but every time you try, it blows up in your face. (Not literally...hopefully.) How do you get unstuck?! The most important factor is the relationship with your therapist. My main focus is teaming up with you - not telling you what to do - in figuring out how to help you create new patterns. My practice mostly revolves around increasing your awareness of what’s happening in your mind and your body – and above all, respecting your experience. My approach focuses on mindfulness, DBT-informed strategies, and post-traumatic growth. This takes work, but with the help of someone you trust, you absolutely can change the structure of your brain! As much as I may be in the most privileged of demographics (see photo), I’ve taken a lifetime’s worth of feeling inferior and deployed it for good: Being able to empathize with you, the client. I've worked extensively with anger, grief, substance use, LGBTQ+-related issues, insomnia, racial identity, relationship issues, sports performance, etc. I have an easygoing way of communicating with clients. My communication style definitely doesn't have that solemn, overly serious tone that you might see depicted in movie therapists. Just to forewarn: My sessions can and will include some (very lame) jokes here and there, but that does not mean I don't take your struggle seriously.

You might feel stuck in patterns like overthinking, anxiety, or relationship stress that are hard to turn off. Even when things look fine on the outside, it can feel exhausting trying to manage everything internally. I work with adults who want to understand these patterns and respond differently, not just cope. Our work focuses on making sense of what is happening beneath the surface while also finding practical ways to feel more clear, grounded, and in control in daily life. I integrate trauma informed care and parts work to help you build self-trust, set boundaries, and move through challenges with more clarity and confidence.

Many of my clients are women who appear strong on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted on the inside. You may be struggling with high-functioning depression, relationship anxiety, or the pressure to hold everything together while quietly feeling stuck or burned out. Therapy can be a place where you don’t have to be the strong one, where you can slow down, understand yourself, and start to feel relief. I specialize in working with women navigating eating disorders, trauma, caregiver burnout, and the lasting impact of difficult family relationships. Many of my clients are adult daughters of emotionally complicated or challenging parents who are learning to set boundaries, heal old wounds, and break patterns that no longer serve them. I also work with clients who struggle with relationship anxiety, self-doubt, and feeling “not good enough” despite being capable and successful. My approach is warm, supportive, and practical. Together we work to understand patterns, reduce anxiety, and build tools you can use in everyday life. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a therapist who is both compassionate and honest, and who helps them make real progress, not just talk about problems. Therapy with me is a space where you can be fully yourself while working toward meaningful change. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or ready to grow, we will move at a pace that feels safe and supportive.

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience across private practice, hospital, academic, and community settings. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and accustomed to being the ones others depend on. Yet privately, they may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from their own needs. Sometimes there's a sense that something needs to change, even when it's hard to name what that is. You may recognize different parts of yourself pulling in different directions. A part that wants to speak up and another that worries about disappointing someone. A part that longs for closeness and another that has learned, for good reason, to stay guarded. Or a part that's tired of carrying so much, alongside another that doesn't know how to stop. These patterns have a history worth understanding. The ways we've learned to keep the peace, anticipate others' needs, or hold ourselves to certain expectations are shaped by our relationships, families, cultures, and the environments we've had to navigate. What once helped us feel safe or accepted can eventually leave us feeling stuck or far from ourselves. In therapy, I'm interested in understanding these different parts of you, including those you've learned to hide or criticize. Together, we can explore what they've been carrying, what they're trying to protect, and how they continue to shape your life. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity rather than judgment. I earned my doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, completed predoctoral and postdoctoral research training at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine, and hold a Master of Social Work from USC.

Hello ! I am Sergio Fernando Gueller, LCSW, I am an American citizen and love our Blessed country with all my heart; I am also an immigrant from Latin America, Argentina, who arrived to this country at age 19 (I am currently 65), "tired and poor" and escaping an unstable political environment and difficult socioeconomic perspectives. I completed my training in Europe and Latin America through my participation in many seminars and obtaining several certifications in this field, however, all my formal education took place in California and Oregon, in the USA. My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic and practical and am focused on providing immediate alleviation and crisis resolution to my clients via powerful cognitive/behavioral tools which I use daily in my practice. I am a simple person and my approach is formal and respectful, however, I use respectful/sensitive humor and levity therapeutically when appropriate as I believe it is a major part of my method.

Being capable does not mean you are not struggling. You may be meeting responsibilities while privately managing anxiety, trauma, relationship pain, or emotional exhaustion. Perhaps symptoms are disrupting your work or daily life, and you are wondering whether further assessment would help. I bring more than 15 years of clinical experience, a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, and a Master’s in Forensic Psychology to my work as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I hold advanced certification in complex trauma (CCTP-II), DBT certification, and domestic violence certification, and I am EMDR trained. My background also includes specialized training and clinical work in inpatient and outpatient eating disorder treatment. I provide care in English and Spanish. I help clients address trauma, anxiety and panic, OCD, depression, eating disorders, and relationship betrayal. Together, we connect present challenges with the patterns behind them, practice skills you can use outside therapy, and make room for difficult conversations without judgment. When appropriate, we explore whether additional assessment or referrals would support your care. My work also includes emotional support through separation and divorce, and helping families navigate conflict, strengthen communication, and explore reconnection when it is safe and appropriate. Each person’s readiness and boundaries guide this process. Through women’s wellness coaching, I help clients manage stress, build sustainable habits, and navigate life transitions with greater confidence. Across these services, my focus is on helping you strengthen boundaries, rebuild self-trust, and move forward with greater clarity. You do not have to keep proving you can handle everything before your needs matter.

Welcome! I'm Silvie Wilson. I'd like to acknowledge the strength it requires to take that first step of reaching out for help with your mental health from a therapist. I know it's not easy to begin the journey to better self understanding, compassion, and mastery. My aim is to create a safe environment in which we can explore your own personal history, themes, and challenges, in order to find resources and solutions to the obstacles that hold you back from being exactly the person you've always wanted to be. I will pay attention to who you are as an individual, reflect back your strengths, and help you to tie together the seemingly disparate aspects of your life so that you realize how much sense you make, have compassion for all phases of your development, and leave behind what no longer serves you to find the life you've always wanted. Together we can build up your sense of self, your resilience, and your ability to find peace of mind.

I identify as queer, fat, femme and have a mixture of indigenous and colonizer DNA. I share this first because the way we identify matters. Many reasons and factors stop us from being ourselves around others and often, when we can't fully live who we are, our mental health suffers. If that's you, I'm here to help. We can work through body image issues, disordered eating, anxiety, depression, trauma, conflict management together if you're willing to do the work of honestly engaging in therapy with me. I grew up on the East Coast to immigrant parents from Colombia and lived in SoCal for 15 years and recently moved back home to be near my parents. I have a rescued pitbull that brings me lots of peace and joy and you might see him napping behind me via telehealth sessions. I enjoy hiking, cooking, reading (fiction for fun), and taking care of my indoor plants. I love learning about indigenous wisdom/practices from all over the world, herbalism, tarot, and other healing practices and beliefs that folks use to find meaning and wellness. Last but not least, I really love my job! And I do it because I believe in it and have witnessed many people shift, grow, break patterns and learn new ones that significantly improve quality of life. If you're curious but unsure if I'd be the right fit for you, email me and we can schedule a 15 minute chat (free of charge) where you can get a better idea and ask a few questions to find out if this would be a good option for you. Please keep your email short and only include your interest in scheduling a 15 minute call and 1 or 2 sentences of what you're looking for. My email is: ericaarizalcsw @ gmail.com

Hi, I'm Jaclyn, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety, perfectionism, and self-esteem. I am passionate about helping people build a healthier relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves so they can spend less time struggling and more time engaging in the things that matter most to them. Many of the clients I work with feel exhausted by constant self-criticism, food and body thoughts, anxiety, or the pressure to get everything "right." They may find themselves stuck in cycles of restriction, binge eating, emotional eating, people-pleasing, or perfectionism, despite their best efforts to change. My goal is to help clients better understand the patterns keeping them stuck while developing practical tools to create meaningful and lasting change. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, self-compassion work, and values-based approaches to help clients develop greater awareness, emotional resilience, and flexibility. I believe that lasting change is most sustainable when it comes from a place of understanding and self-compassion rather than shame or self-judgment. Therapy with me is not about achieving perfection. Instead, it is about learning how to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, self-awareness, and kindness toward yourself. Whether you are struggling with an eating disorder, body image concerns, anxiety, or feeling disconnected from yourself, I strive to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where healing and growth can occur. Reaching out for support can be difficult, and I am honored to walk alongside clients as they move toward a more fulfilling and meaningful life. This sounds polished for Grow while still feeling like you—warm, compassionate, and clearly focused on eating disorders and body image work.

Hi, my name is Ron Cummings. I decided to become a therapist after dealing with panic disorder in my own life. For a while, I also had agoraphobia and was afraid to leave my house out of fear and anxiety over having a panic attack. This also led me to depression over thinking I might never be able to leave my home again and live normally. However, through therapy I was able to recover, return to college, and obtain a teaching credential. During my time as a teacher, I realized that many of my students were having problems learning due to what they experienced in the world outside of school and at home. As a result, I returned to college and obtained an MA in Counseling Psychology in 2013 and then my full LMFT license with the state of California. Through the years, I have discovered that life does not always provide us a smoothly paved road. I experienced many things that tempted me to give up, but I was able to make it through these things due to the support of others and through therapy. This is the reason that I am a therapist – to help others receive the help they need. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients on goals they wish to reach as well as overcoming anxiety, depression, relationship problems, and situational difficulties. I look to the past to deal with attachment issues of childhood that may inform the present of the client. I have training in CBT,Solution Focused Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, EMDR, DBT, exposure therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy . I use different therapies as it fits with the client.

Hi, I'm Cheri, a licensed marriage and family therapist in California. If you're stuck in a loop of intrusive thoughts, checking, or needing to feel certain, I know how exhausting that can be, and I help teens and adults find their way out of it. The approach I use most is called Exposure and Response Prevention, or ERP. In everyday terms, we take small, manageable steps toward the things that scare you, without giving in to the urge to check or seek reassurance, so anxiety gradually loses its grip. I also draw on CBT, ACT, and mindfulness to help you feel steadier along the way. Together, we'll build your comfort with uncertainty so you can spend less time managing fear and more time living the way you want to. Therapy with me is collaborative and practical, and we'll move at a pace that feels right for you.

I am in my second marriage for 30 years now, after my 24-year first marriage failed. We have seven children between the two of us, 31 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. I have had good success counseling couples who have given up on their relationship, especially those who have experienced infidelity. I don't counsel children until they are 18. With more than 20 years of clinical experience, I work with adults and couples who want to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I have particular experience working with ADHD, men’s issues, relationships, anxiety, eating disorders, and emotional and behavioral concerns. My approach to therapy is warm, direct, curious, and collaborative. I listen carefully, but I also believe therapy should be an active conversation. I’ll ask questions, offer observations, help make connections, and sometimes challenge you to look at something differently. My training spans cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, behavioral, neuropsychological, humanistic, and Adlerian perspectives. Rather than asking every client to fit one particular model, I draw from these approaches based on the person sitting across from me. Sometimes that means practical strategies for something happening right now; other times it means understanding why the same pattern has followed you for years. Ideally, therapy gives us room for both.

Hello, my name is Steven Nelson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over nine years of clinical experience. While my professional background includes family and relationship therapy, my current focus is working with individuals, helping each person navigate their unique journey toward healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds and professions, including first responders, law enforcement personnel, active-duty military members and their families, nurses, attorneys, and many others facing a wide range of life challenges. Life's difficulties are a natural part of the human experience. At times, individuals may feel isolated in their struggles or believe that no one truly understands what they are going through. These thoughts can contribute to anxiety, depression, substance use, and other challenges that impact relationships, work, and overall quality of life. When left unaddressed, these difficulties can become overwhelming and interfere with one's ability to move forward. I believe that meaningful change is possible through a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based therapeutic approach. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can gain insight, build effective coping skills, strengthen resilience, and develop healthier ways of managing life's challenges. Together, we can work toward healing, personal wellness, and lasting positive change. In addition to my Psychological Therapy license, I hold specialties certifications in Drug and Alcohol addiction, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Sex Addiction, Trauma and Domestic Violence prevention.

Many of the individuals and couples I work with are at a crossroads—frustrated, sometimes burnt out, and seeking practical, workable strategies for change. Therapy offers a dedicated, supportive space to identify obstacles and map a path toward meaningful personal growth. With over 15 years of experience across healthcare, restorative justice, and outpatient settings, I provide telehealth therapy at Grow for adults and couples. My practice focuses on: *Chronic Pain & Complex Medical Issues *Anxiety & Phobias *Fertility & Family Building Support *LGBTQ+ & Gender-Affirming Care *Eating Disorder/Substance Use Step-Down Maintenance: Supporting ongoing recovery from substance use or eating disorders following higher levels of care. *Couples Therapy: Improving communication and relational dynamics (clinical outpatient focus only). Practice Boundaries & Administrative Policies To maintain a clear focus on clinical care, please review the following scope boundaries: *Legal & Forensic Services: I do not provide forensic evaluations, court-ordered treatment, litigation support, or expert witness testimony for legal proceedings, divorce, or custody disputes. *Disability & Administrative Paperwork: I do not perform disability evaluations or complete short/long-term disability claims; I do not write Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters. *Telehealth & Medical Requirements: Virtual therapy for chronic pain, ARFID, or medical distress serves strictly as a complementary psychological service. Because virtual care lacks physical monitoring: A. Clients with ARFID or eating disorders must maintain ongoing care with an in-person physician for routine medical safety. B. Clients seeking pain reprocessing or somatic therapy must have their pain evaluated by a physician. ******If medical or psychiatric needs exceed virtual outpatient scope, I will assist with referrals to local in-person providers**************

Hi There. My name is Mimi. I am a licensed Psychotherapist. I am here to help you grow, identify and resolve emotional and psychological obstacles that are preventing you from achieving the quality of life you deserve and desire. My integrative approach to therapy combines a variety of techniques to accommodate different individual needs to assist you in making choices that will help you achieve a fuller and happier life in a non judgmental, compassionate, warm, and safe environment where you will be heard and accepted. You may feel lost, empty, anxious, alone, with no place to turn to, but as we work together, I will lead you to explore those wounds and emotions that are creating the pain you feel. Clinging to old patterns and emotions is familiar and safe, but it does not serve us well. However, as we walk together, your life will begin to have the purpose you are seeking and deserve as you let go of old emotions and experiences. Taking the first step to self understanding can be intimidating and it takes courage to embark on a journey for change where you will be in control of your life and to all issues overwhelming you with anxious feelings and overwhelming thoughts. You are not alone, you can do it, and I will support you all the way as we work together!

Frequently asked questions

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in California. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across California from San Francisco to San Diego! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in California.

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Eating Disorders, is filtering therapists in California that work with patients with similar concerns.

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
