My treatment methods

Humanistic

I am firm believer in the Humanist approach to mental health. I believe the mental health system is tool for self-actualization for patients. Every patient is an individual with their own experiences and goals for their mental health. As a provider we work with patients to attain their goals together.

Trauma Informed Care

A portion of my education and experience has been helping those that experienced trauma. I studied the Trauma Informed Care approach as a part of my studies. I employ those principles and goals as a provider in their care which are: safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, empowerment, cultural issues.

Eclectic

I use various methods in talking to patients and listening sometimes therapy is what the patient "needs". It can be Cognitive Therapy methods with helping a patient have perspective with distortions. I also have used motivational interviewing techniques with Substance Use Disorders. Patients at times also just need a provider to listen and therapy evolves.
