LCSW, 6 years of experience
New to Grow
So glad you are here! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in PA. I began my career when I graduated undergrad in 2011! I have been licensed clinically for over 10 years and have experience with a range of clients from children to older adults. I have worked in outpatient, school and hosptial settings during my career providing therapy or other case management services. I am very passionate about mental health and believe that no matter where you find yourself you can always make progress to a better place. I have had difficult real-life experiences that shape my encouraging outlook and I aim to practice what suggestions I preach.
In our first session, I will do my best to get a snapshot of where you are and where you want to be. I will share details about my style to ensure you feel we are compatible energetically. I will also make my way through the intake documents, so whatever you are able to fill out in advance will help our time together be even more effective.
What sets me apart of other therapists, is my ability to take in the whole picture of who you are and also who you are becoming. I have a knack with identifying strengths and helping people show grace where needed and up accountability in other areas. I have found a sweet spot in how I communicate when hard topics are up for discussion. I ask you questions you may have never thought about that help you tap into your natural insight you may feel disconnected from. Using strategies from motivational interviewing, CBT and mindfulness, we will develop a plan to gain insight from your current patterns that will help you break free from programs that may be holding you back.
I am best positioned to serve parents (single or partnered), young adults, mental health professionals, self-motivated or growth-focused individuals. If you have spent time thinking about goals that a better mindset would help you achieve, I would love to join your support team. If you are going through a difficult phase and life and need some encouragement and accountability, we may be a good fit to work together during this season.
In therapy we will begin by evaluating clients understanding of how thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors are interconnected. The client will identify goals that they want to improve and the therapist will suggest mindfulness practices that best address clients identified areas of need. Homework to utilize specific practices will be assigned between sessions.
In sessions the focus is on exploring current emotional habits and utilizing mindfulness strategies to engage client in non-judgmental observation to reach identified goals and relieve symptoms.
In a session, we partner in identifying all the internal resources the client has had to utilize to get to this point in life. With therapeutic reframing of storylines, a client will hopefully feel increased self-esteem and empowerment about their life experiences. Will review current coping strategies and replace or add as agreed upon in session.
