New to Grow
👋 Hi, I’m Jen — a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Music Therapist. I work with children, teens and adults who are dealing with anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, eating disorders, or just that nagging feeling that life shouldn’t feel this hard. My sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and human. You won’t find therapy jargon or long awkward silences here (unless you need a second to think — then we’ll embrace it). My approach blends evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness, and music therapy. Sometimes that means diving into tough conversations, sometimes it means finding small ways to breathe again. I meet you where you are and help you get unstuck — one honest, real moment at a time. Before private practice, I worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia providing individual and group therapy for adolescents with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. I also supported patients and families on the Oncology, Behavioral Health, PICU, and NICU units, and those navigating grief and loss. Those experiences taught me that healing rarely looks perfect, and that progress often starts with showing up — even when you don’t feel ready. My goal is simple: to help you make sense of what’s going on and find a little more ease in the middle of it all. Whether you’re ready to talk, vent, process, or just exist in the moment — I’ve got you.
First sessions can feel a little nerve-wracking — and that’s completely normal. You don’t have to come in with the perfect words, a list of goals, or a rehearsed story. I’ll guide the conversation so you don’t have to worry about what to say. In our first meeting, we’ll keep things laid back and conversational. I’ll ask some questions to get to know you, like what’s been going on, what’s bringing you to therapy now, and what you’re hoping might feel different. We’ll talk about your history at a pace that feels comfortable for you. If something feels too heavy or you’re not ready to go there yet, that’s okay. You get to set the tone. I’ll also share a bit about how I work, answer any questions you have, and together we’ll decide what makes sense moving forward. That could be setting some goals, exploring specific challenges, or just getting comfortable in the process. My goal for the first session is simple: to make sure you leave feeling heard, supported, and a little more hopeful that change is possible. You don’t need to prepare or perform — just show up as you are. We’ll take it from there. 🙂
My approach is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to you (no cookie-cutter therapy here!) I mix evidence-based methods like CBT, DBT, and ACT with music therapy and creative tools to help clients untangle thoughts, manage emotions, and actually feel a little lighter. “Results” don’t mean overnight perfection. Usually it looks like noticing patterns, handling life a bit more easily, or finally laughing at the little stuff that used to drive you nuts. My goal? To create a space where you feel seen, supported, and capable of tackling the hard stuff without it feeling impossible.
I work with children, teens, and adults who feel like they’re trying really hard to hold it all together but still end up anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck. Sometimes that looks like intrusive thoughts that won’t turn off, an inner critic that never stops talking, or a constant feeling that you’re not doing “enough.” Sound familiar? You’re not alone. Many of my clients are high achievers, deep thinkers, or people who tend to take care of everyone else before themselves. Others are kids or teens trying to make sense of big emotions, identity, or pressure that feels too heavy for their age. Whether you’re navigating OCD, trauma, depression, anxiety, or eating-related struggles, I work to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are — no masks, no pretending you’re fine. In our work together, we’ll focus on understanding what’s driving your thoughts and behaviors, not just managing symptoms. My goal is to help you build awareness, self-compassion, and practical tools to handle whatever life throws your way. Therapy with me is collaborative, flexible, and human — because you’re already doing the hard part just by showing up.
I use CBT to help you manage thoughts and feel more in control.
I use DBT to build coping skills and handle emotions better.
I use mindfulness to help you stay present and reduce stress.
