Hey, my name is Marrium Guirguis and I am here to help you wherever you are in life. I believe we all have a story to tell and regardless of how similar two experiences sound, they will still be very different from each other and deserve to be heard, validated and worked with uniquely. Throughout my career, I have specialized in working with adults and adolescents 14+ with PTSD, Anxiety, working with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence, family dynamics, supportive therapy through challenges, people with disabilities, and young couples. One thing uniquely about myself is that I am a little person (dwarfism). I navigate the world at 3’6” tall and had to overcome a lot and have learned tremendously from my experiences. If you resonate with that and feel there could be a lot to unpack and work through, I can help you. I have had great success in incorporating one's culture, faith, values and morals due to it being integral in understanding who they are. My Christian faith has influenced my desire to help people, but I enjoy working with people of all backgrounds in a faith-based or secular style, based on your preference. Life is moving pretty fast with all of the rapid changes occurring daily. This may be what you are looking for to be able to gain that much more control over it. Please check out my website at www.faithfultomorrowcs.com for more about my practice.

I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including client-centered therapy, psychodynamic principles, play therapy, and EMDR. I also have a strong background in the Developmental, Individual-Difference, Relationship-Based (DIR) model and specialized training in Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA). These frameworks help me better support individuals and families, particularly those navigating neurodiversity, trauma, and complex emotional experiences.

I initally began my career in technical problem-solving in the fields of Environmental Science and Engineering, but my deeper calling was always in helping people navigate their own challenges. While working as an engineer, I served my church community as a lay counselor and intercessor, which sparked a growing passion for more meaningful, people-centered work. That calling led me to pursue a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and I haven’t looked back since. Today, I serve as both a private practice clinician and a workplace mental health consultant and trainer. This work allows me to blend my analytical skills with a deep commitment to emotional wellbeing—and I truly feel I’ve found my purpose.

Hello! My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can process your experiences, deepen your understanding of yourself, and explore areas where healing is needed. I take a person-centered approach, meaning you lead the way in your journey while I follow—offering guidance, support, and tools as needed. I offer EMDR, IFS, CBT, and other modalities, tailoring our work to what feels most helpful and empowering for you. I also place a strong emphasis on connecting the mind and body, as many of us experience a disconnect between the two. For those who are interested, I incorporate elements of energy therapy—drawing on yogic principles, Usui Reiki, and other approaches—to support your healing process. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and experiences, and I offer specific support for those seeking culturally sensitive therapy, honoring your unique story and identity throughout our work together. Congratulations! It is great that you have taken the first step in seeking support for your emotional well-being. Perhaps you are struggling with daily stresses, anxiety, overwhelming sadness, depression or past trauma is interfering with your life. Whatever the reason, you are here, which means which mean you are seekng to be the best version of you! I would be honored to continue helping you on this journey. My story is not unique but my journey certainly is. I am a Latina born to teen parents from Puerto Rico. I grew up poor in the inner city. I witnessed my father’s alcohol abuse, DV, divorce and my mother’s depression as she struggled to raise two young daughters while getting an education for herself - all before the age of 8! I survived the only way I knew how - excelling at school. I was fortunate to receive a full scholarship to a prestigious boarding school and studied abroad. This experience had its pros and cons. I saw the world and realized there was much more to life than what I experienced as a child. As an adult, I struggled with forging healthy relationships. I married, had two children. Sadly, I repeated the cycle and married someone that struggled with alcoholism and eventually died as a result. I was left to finish raising two teenagers. While that was hard, the toughest part was when my son was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He is fine now but the ordeal was terrifying. I am now remarried and happily experiencing the joys and challenges of a blended family. My journey has had successes and challenges. I have recognized that all of these experiences helped me grow emotionally. I believe I am stronger and more grounded and a better therapist because of it.

Supporting You Through Stress, Loss, and the Pressure to Hold It All Together. Do you often feel overwhelmed, stuck in your head, or like you're carrying too much on your own? Maybe you're navigating deep grief, trying to control what you can in a world that often feels unpredictable. You might hold yourself to high (and exhausting) standards, feeling like anything less than perfect isn't enough. Or you find yourself trapped in all-or-nothing thinking, swinging between burnout and shutdown. If any of this resonates, you are not alone, and you don't have to keep managing it all by yourself.

Hi, I’m Angela. I am a Board-Certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping people navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and see themselves in a new light. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for change, I provide a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace. I have worked with individuals of all ages—from children to adults—and have extensive experience supporting adults with cognitive challenges. My approach is always individualized and adaptable, using modified strategies when needed to ensure therapy is practical, meaningful, and effective for you. Life can feel overwhelming when emotions seem impossible to manage. In our sessions, you set the pace. We’ll start by identifying what matters most to you and create goals that feel realistic and empowering. I draw from evidence-based methods such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and emotion-regulation skills training. For those processing difficult experiences, we can incorporate EMDR to help reduce distress and promote healing. In our sessions together, I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can identify and overcome any barriers that you feel are holding you back. I also use Narrative Therapy to help you re-author your story—one that highlights your resilience, strengths, and growth. In our first session, we’ll use Motivational Interviewing to talk through your hopes for therapy, explore any concerns, and begin setting the foundation for change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, frustration, or interpersonal challenges, I will guide you in finding practical tools and skills to help you thrive. Together, we’ll take steps toward greater emotional balance and fulfillment in your life. We can work together!

Whether you’re coming out, going through a breakup, shifting family roles, or recovering from difficult past experiences—I’m here to walk with you, not ahead of you. You won’t get generic nods or vague advice from me. Instead, we’ll work together to find practical tools that fit your real life, while also giving space to feel, reflect, and grow. My style is down-to-earth, warm, and direct—like a supportive conversation with someone who really gets it. Therapy can be transformative, and it can also be human and even kind of fun. If you’re looking for someone who will take your challenges seriously without making the process feel like a chore, we might be a great fit.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by New Jersey rather than a city like Newark?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in New Jersey. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across New Jersey from Jersey City to Paterson! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in New Jersey.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What happens during the first therapy session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
