New to Grow
Hello, I’m a licensed professional counselor and counselor educator with experience working with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, practical, and compassionate, integrating evidence-based therapies to help clients better understand themselves and build meaningful, lasting change. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, empowered, and equipped to move toward the life they want.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, personal history, and goals so we can begin developing a plan that feels supportive and tailored to your needs. You can expect a relaxed, nonjudgmental conversation where you set the pace, and we work together to identify next steps toward positive change.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is the balance between practical, evidence-based strategies and deeper exploration of emotional and relational patterns that shape clients’ experiences. I tailor treatment to each individual, integrating approaches such as EMDR, CBT, DBT, and insight-oriented work to help clients not only manage current challenges but also create lasting change. Clients often share that they feel genuinely understood while also gaining concrete tools they can use in everyday life to improve relationships, emotional well-being, and overall functioning.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to work with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions, and who are looking for practical tools alongside deeper self-understanding. I work well with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected and want support improving communication, emotional regulation, self-confidence, and overall life satisfaction. I also support clients who are motivated to better understand patterns from their past and build healthier relationships and coping strategies moving forward.
EMDR
I am trained in EMDR and use it to help clients reprocess traumatic and distressing memories that continue to impact their current functioning. In my practice, I integrate EMDR within a broader treatment plan to reduce emotional reactivity and support adaptive belief development.
Psychodynamic
My work incorporates psychodynamic principles to help clients explore how early relationships and unconscious patterns influence present emotions and behaviors. I use this approach to deepen insight and help clients recognize recurring relational and emotional themes.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use ACT to help clients develop psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult emotions while committing to values-based action. In practice, I guide clients in building mindfulness skills and making meaningful changes aligned with their core values.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I regularly use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and behavioral difficulties. In practice, I collaborate with clients to develop healthier thinking patterns and practical coping strategies.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I draw on DBT skills to support clients in improving emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. I incorporate DBT techniques into sessions to help clients respond to intense emotions and stress in healthier ways.
