About me

I am a seasoned clinician with over 25 years of experience in behavioral health, specializing in trauma treatment and systems-level care. Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). When someone enters treatment, they will be greeted by someone who brings a depth of clinical insight to the therapeutic setting. I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space that allows clients to vent, process, and manage the challenges that brought them into treatment. Throughout my careeer, I have worked with individuals and organizations navigating high-stress environments. My career in the fire department has shaped a focused expertise in trauma management, crisis response, and post-incident recovery. As founder of Signal-5 Consulting, John integrates clinical best practices with operational strategy—supporting CARF accreditation, Medicaid compliance, and scalable documentation systems that reflect both therapeutic integrity and regulatory rigor

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session can be overwhelming, but I work to develop an atmosphere of empathy and trust. In order to do that effectively, I will guide you through a history and background gathering process to best understand where you in, from your perspective. You can be assured that the space is safe, private, and confidential. That said, you are in charge of the process and what direction it goes.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I listen to what you need. You are in charge of the process, and I will help guide you. I am resolute in the idea that the therapy space is yours.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals who have experienced high-intensity or cumulative trauma, especially first responders, veterans, and those in caregiving or crisis-facing roles. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, hypervigilant, or disconnected from themselves and others. They are often high-functioning but privately overwhelmed, seeking a safe, confidential space where they can safely process what they have carried for years. With advanced training in CBT and EMDR, I help clients build insight, restore nervous system balance, and reclaim a sense of agency. My approach is practical, compassionate, and grounded in the realities of trauma exposure.
