New to Grow
I have been working in the field of counseling for 20+ years, both in private practice and school settings. I have been passionate about helping others for as long as I can remember and feel privileged to have landed in a profession that allows me to do that daily. I believe strongly in the development of a healing, interactive, connection and relationship with my clients to best support their growth towards personal goals. My hope is to create an environment of trust and transparency to encourage you to explore your thoughts and emotions in a meaningful way. I believe my own experiences with anxiety, depression, and life transitions have supported growth both personally and professionally to better serve my clients in their therapeutic experience.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect our first session to be an opportunity to get to know one another through sharing and story-telling as we confirm that we are a good fit for the work ahead. I appreciate anecdotes and the client's expertise to lead us to the most important information in conjunction with some questions to guide and ensure we don't miss vital information while evaluating treatment plans.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
As a strong and articulate feeler, I believe I am very good at making my clients feel comfortable quickly, and establish that therapeutic rapport in a timely manner. I believe that the diversity of life experiences I have endured helps me have genuine empathy for the variety of battles my clients are fighting and I'm quick to demonstrate that to them. I also personally thrive on being achievement oriented and reinforce for my clients the importance of evaluating growth and quantifying change so that they feel confident in the impact of their counseling experience.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I enjoy the opportunity to serve clients that are open to trying new strategies and learning together how to better identify their feelings and needs. I value the process not just the product so ideal clients are partners in the process, committed to patiently but diligently implementing new ways of approaching daily activities to make long-term and impactful changes.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT works because it helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a really practical way. Instead of getting stuck in old patterns, you learn how to notice unhelpful thoughts, challenge them, and replace them with more balanced ones. Over time, this gives you more emotional control, reduces stress, and helps you respond to situations in ways that actually support your goals. It’s a collaborative, skills‑based approach that teaches you tools you can use long after therapy ends.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness helps you build a calmer, more grounded relationship with your thoughts and emotions. Instead of getting swept up in worries or self‑criticism, you learn how to notice what’s happening in the present moment without judgment. This creates space to respond rather than react, which reduces stress and increases emotional clarity. Over time, mindfulness strengthens your ability to stay centered, make intentional choices, and feel more connected to your life as it’s happening.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
Solution‑Focused Therapy works by helping you identify what’s already going well and using your existing strengths to create meaningful change. Instead of spending a lot of time analyzing problems, we focus on your goals, your resources, and the small steps that move you forward. This approach builds confidence, highlights your resilience, and helps you notice progress quickly. It’s practical, empowering, and centered on the belief that you already have the tools within you to create the life you want.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
REBT helps you understand how your beliefs—not just the situations you face—shape your emotions and reactions. Instead of accepting harsh or rigid beliefs as facts, you learn to question them and replace them with more flexible, compassionate ones. This shift reduces emotional distress and helps you respond to challenges in healthier, more empowering ways. Over time, REBT strengthens your ability to handle stress, let go of unhelpful self‑judgments, and approach life with greater resilience and clarity.
Couples Counseling
Couples counseling helps partners understand each other more clearly and communicate in ways that feel safer and more productive. Instead of getting stuck in the same arguments or misunderstandings, you learn how to slow things down, express your needs openly, and really hear each other. The process focuses on building connection, strengthening trust, and creating new patterns that support the relationship you both want. Over time, couples counseling helps you work as a team again—problem‑solving together, supporting each other more effectively, and feeling more connected in your daily life.
