Are you struggling with something that happened? Maybe you’re having a hard time after a car accident, medical procedure, assault, natural disaster, or witnessing something shocking. Or maybe what happened doesn’t seem “big” enough to call trauma, but you know it changed something in you.
Some experiences are what we call “big T” traumas. But there are also “little t” traumas. Being neglected or made to feel invisible, being made fun of, getting yelled at, or losing a pet can leave a lasting mark too. An experience doesn’t have to seem “big” to everyone else. What matters is how it affected you.
I’m a trauma therapist who uses EMDR and other therapies to help people work through overwhelming experiences and feel more like themselves again.
I also work with healthcare workers who have experienced disturbing or traumatic situations in the course of their jobs. You may be carrying something you saw, heard, or had to do that is difficult to talk about with people who haven’t been there.
I have extensive experience working with adolescents and teenagers as well. This is a time of life when everything can feel big, and having a place where you don’t have to minimize what you’re feeling can make a real difference.
Therapy with me is active and collaborative. We’ll work together to understand what is keeping you stuck and find ways to help you. If you’re motivated and short on time, I can also give you practical tools and knowledge you can use between sessions to support yourself through a difficult space.
I’m probably a good fit if you’re ready to work on the impact of something overwhelming and want a therapist who will take your experience seriously, even if other people might not understand why it affected you so deeply.
My name is Nadine and I was born and raised in Iran, went to high school in England and came to the US when I was 16. Having lived in three different countries, I am very familiar with how culture affects individuals. I have a sense of humor and enjoy meeting people from different walks of life. Every individual that I meet, has a different story. I am here to listen
My name is Rachel, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Originally from Hong Kong, I am multilingual and fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. I am passionate about working with individuals and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and providing culturally responsive, inclusive, and compassionate care.
I support clients navigating depression, anxiety, social anxiety, imposter syndrome, stress, grief, self-esteem concerns, and academic or career-related challenges. I strive to create a safe, warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood as you explore your experiences, gain insight, and develop meaningful coping strategies.
I am a Certified Brainspotting Therapist and am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), sand tray and sand play therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Play Therapy with young children. My clinical approach is person-centered and integrative, drawing from Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, Art and Music Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices.
I believe that therapy should be tailored to who you are, not a one-size-fits-all approach. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their unique needs, strengths, experiences, and goals. Whether you are working through a difficult season, seeking greater self-understanding, or hoping to create meaningful change in your life, I am here to support you along the way. My goal is to help you build greater self-awareness, develop effective tools for navigating life’s challenges, and move toward healing, growth, and long-term resilience.
Welcome! I'm Silvie Wilson.
I'd like to acknowledge the strength it requires to take that first step of reaching out for help with your mental health from a therapist. I know it's not easy to begin the journey to better self understanding, compassion, and mastery.
My aim is to create a safe environment in which we can explore your own personal history, themes, and challenges, in order to find resources and solutions to the obstacles that hold you back from being exactly the person you've always wanted to be.
I will pay attention to who you are as an individual, reflect back your strengths, and help you to tie together the seemingly disparate aspects of your life so that you realize how much sense you make, have compassion for all phases of your development, and leave behind what no longer serves you to find the life you've always wanted.
Together we can build up your sense of self, your resilience, and your ability to find peace of mind.

Hi, I'm Karen Lopez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), artist, and lifelong student of human behavior. I believe healing begins in a space where you feel safe enough to be fully yourself—without judgment, pressure, or the need to have everything figured out.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I integrate evidence-based therapies with mindfulness, creativity, somatic awareness, and practical tools to help clients better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My own life has been shaped by profound loss, family trauma, major life transitions, and the experience of rebuilding my identity through seasons of uncertainty. Those experiences don't define my work, but they have deepened my empathy and strengthened my belief in each person's capacity for growth. I don't see people as broken—I see people who have learned to survive, and together we can explore new ways of living that feel more authentic, connected, and fulfilling.
My experience is centered on collaborating with youth, adults, and families. During these developing years and shifting dynamics, additional care for our health is needed. I work with emotional regulation, relational rifts, enhancing communication, and acceptance of self.
With attachment focused therapy as my base, I utilize mindfulness and experiential approaches in our work together. Our conversations and therapeutic activities are guided by your experience and goals.
I worked at Oak Grove Center for Education Treatment and the Arts, a level 12 treatment facility, for children and adolescents in Murrieta, California for 10 years before entering into private practice with a large group practice for two years located in Temecula, California. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. My name is Dr. Norman Severe and I'm a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in the local San Diego community for over 25 years. For the past 24 years, I have devoted my private practice to serving the mental health needs of children, adolescents and families in need of therapeutic and psychological support. I believe everyone can achieve great things in their lives by recognizing their strengths, working through struggles and overcoming obstacles by persevering and never giving up.
I specialize in the treatment of Anxiety, Depression and Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in children and adolescents as well as adults who have experienced trauma related to abuse, car accidents and/or witnessing and being exposed to life-threatening situations. I also specialize in treating individuals who identify as Neurodivergent and/or have specific learning differences.

Hi, I’m Jacob Mooradian. I earned my bachelor’s degree from CSU Fullerton and my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University, where I focused on mental health and supporting people through life’s challenges. I take a down-to-earth, non-directive approach rooted in CBT, helping you understand the patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so you can eventually become your own therapist. I love bringing in media like movies, TV shows, sports, and current trends to make our conversations relatable, engaging, and grounded in real life. My goal is to validate your experiences, help you gain clarity, and build practical tools you can use every day. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are and move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we’ll create a warm, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow with confidence and independence.
Congratulations on taking this important step toward a healthier, more fulfilling life! Starting therapy is a brave choice, and I am here to offer a safe, supportive space where healing can begin. I specialize in working with individuals and families navigating the weight of past trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. Together, we can uncover your strengths, build resilience, and work toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. If you're ready to start your healing journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you every step of the way.
I chose to become a mental health provider because I have always been deeply passionate about helping others navigate life's challenges and find a sense of healing and balance. Throughout my life, I’ve witnessed how powerful support, understanding, and a safe space can be in fostering growth and resilience. I’m committed to empowering individuals to better understand themselves, overcome obstacles, and create meaningful change. Becoming a mental health provider allows me to combine my desire to make a positive impact with my belief in the transformative power of therapy. My goal is to help people lead healthier, more fulfilling lives, and to offer them the tools and support they need to thrive.
All things are interconnected. To feel better, you have to act better. To feel better, you have to think better. To think better, you have to feel better. To act better, you have to think better. To think, feel, and act better, you have to care for your physical health. To care for your physical health, you have to think, feel, and act better. Each has a corresponding effect on the other. However, the aspect of ourselves that we have the most direct control of is what we do, our acting. While we can influence other people, we cannot control other people. A great source of conflict and unhappiness results from our efforts to control others. If you want better relationships, the only thing we can control is what we do, how we choose to relate. We are responsible for what we do. Others are responsible for what they do. Accepting this fundamental reality and thinking, feeling, and acting in accordance with it is how we increase our experience of power, freedom, belonging, meaning and, very importantly, fun.
My professional experience includes over 30 years of post-Master’s clinical work, including leadership experience in foster care, chemical abuse and addiction, inpatient and outpatient mental health services, and crisis intervention, de-escalation, and hospitalization. I am experienced in working with ages three through the elderly. I have worked extensively with youth and families, diverse populations and life issues, providing services in various settings, including family homes, schools, juvenile detention facilities, jails, outpatient clinics, and inpatient psychiatric facilities.
Life is weird, and having help can help.
As a therapist, I tend to be both challenging and supportive. I am focused on real and genuine relationships with folks that help people choose how to define their goals in terms of what is important to them. I care a lot about the people who work with me, and I think that comes across in my relationships. As I am sure you can see via the Grow reviews, I am honest and direct, qualities I find many people appreciate in a therapeutic relationship but I also understand those are not for everyone.
Therapy can also be hard work, but that doesn't mean it has to be a hard time. I've been in the field long enough to know how normal having problems is. The people I work with appreciate that therapy can be a place to laugh, cry, and sometimes both at the same time.
In terms of modalities, a lot of the work I do centers on the therapeutic relationship, with elements of narrative work, CBT, person-centered therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and general talk therapy.
I don't use Grow's AI transcription, and I didn't use AI to write this, if that is important to you to know.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I bring experience working with individuals across the lifespan, children to adults. Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of social work settings, which has given me a broad perspective on the many ways people grow, heal, and overcome challenges. While I’ve valued each of these roles, my greatest passion lies in the therapeutic setting—supporting clients in discovering their strengths and fostering meaningful change. My practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and attachment-based interventions—all delivered through a trauma-informed lens. As a social worker, I am deeply committed to fostering a therapeutic environment that honors diversity, inclusion, and the unique experiences each client brings to the process.
Couples: I am TAKING Couples again. However only on Cash Pay basis. This is how it will work: You can schedule with me an hour consultation, you don't both have to be present, for this Consultation. From there we will meet 5 to 6 times for 1.5 hour sessions. It is very difficult to have Couples sessions within 60 min. The Cash pay is $250.00 for the 1.5 hour sessions. I understand the cost can be a deterrent in seeking help, however if you are both committed to doing the work 5 to 6 sessions should be productive and enough to see changes.
Individuals: Of course I am still taking individuals that are or are not in a relationship and need help. We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers.
Sometimes our own mental health can influence all of our relationships, and you may need coping techniques for anxiety and or depression type symptoms. I will work with you individually to help you gain insight to your own behavior that may be influencing your relationship.
I am here to help with coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others.

I’m a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 15 years of experience in behavioral health. I work with adults and adolescents navigating trauma, grief, ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship and family patterns, life transitions, codependency, identity, and spirituality.
My approach is warm, interactive, integrative, and trauma-informed. I draw from EMDR, parts-oriented work, CBT, motivational interviewing, attachment and relational therapy, mindfulness, and somatic practices, tailoring treatment to each person rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.
My background in addiction treatment deepened my understanding of trauma, coping, and the protective strategies people develop to survive difficult experiences. I am also trained in yoga and have experience with meditation, breathwork, tai chi, and qi gong. When these practices fit a client’s needs and interests, they can become part of our work together.
My name is Thomas Barhorst, and I started counseling in 2004. In addition to having a small private practice shortly after I received my Missouri license in 2007; I have worked as a K-12 school counselor, in substance use treatment, in a residential treatment setting, in a community mental health agency, helping individuals with disabilities transition into the workforce, and helping graduate students manage stress in their professional programs (i.e. medical school, dental school, etc.). Recently, I have begun providing telehealth therapy after obtaining licensure in Arizona and California.
Outside of work, spending time with family and friends is important to me. I also enjoy stories, laughing, listening to stand-up comedy, cooking, playing sports like wallyball and ultimate frisbee on a non-competitive level, watching film noir and psychological thrillers, recently had the opportunity to take my car to a racetrack, and have played bass guitar in a rock band.
Hi there and great job on taking that first step in considering if therapy is right for you. I invite you to come with me on a journey of your own choosing where we will walk together in darkness to find the light you’ve been seeking. Whether it’s life’s little annoying stressors or more complex issues, as a trauma survivor myself, I know firsthand what this is like and wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Whether you choose me or another therapist, make the choice to just give it a try. Sometimes all you need is another person to hold the light while you do the work you need to heal.
He/They is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (specializing in couple therapy) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, as well as an EMDR therapist specializing in trauma, with a client-centered approach. Additionally, they focus on social anxiety, general anxiety, body image issues, life transitions, and stress, working with both children and adults. Johnny is also in training for music therapy.
Hi, I’m Alessandra. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and EMDRIA Certified Therapist™ with nearly 11 years of experience supporting teens and adults throughout California.
Many of the people I work with are used to holding everything together. You may be the person others rely on, the one who notices what everyone needs, keeps the peace, and pushes through even when you’re anxious, exhausted, or unsure of yourself. Asking for help, setting limits, or figuring out what you need may feel less familiar.
I primarily use EMDR to help you work through experiences that continue to affect how you feel about yourself, relate to others, or respond to situations today. EMDR combines working with memories and emotions with guided eye movements, alternating sounds, or tapping. I also draw from CBT, mindfulness, and parts work to help you find tools you can use in daily life.
My style is warm, collaborative, and flexible. I take time to listen and understand you, and I welcome honest feedback about what is and isn’t helping. Therapy with me can include deeper work as well as space for what has been difficult that week. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable and work toward releasing some of the pressure you’ve been carrying, trusting yourself more, and making room for your own needs.

Because I am not accepting new insurance-based clients through Grow, we may be unable to begin or continue working together, and I can help you explore referrals to providers who accept your plan.
Hello and welcome to the journey of becoming an even more incredible version of yourself! I'm Sarah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am so looking forward to meeting with you.
I am a strengths-based, client centered, and solutions focused therapist. Together we will work to develop skills based on your strengths to help you thrive in your life. Our time together will be a collaboration between us to make sure that you are working on the areas that you feel will most benefit you and even those that you may not consider needing change.
While I am new to Grow Therapy, I have been practicing in various schools settings as a counselor for over a decade: supporting students and parents navigate, life, learning and loss of all types. Whether you or your child experience neurodivergence (such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, emotionality, sensory sensitivities, demand avoidance, etc.) or are struggling with social , work, relationship or routine daily demands, I am here to support you.
I also support women going through relationship struggles, whether it's from co-parenting, infidelity, perimenopause, caregiving burnout, etc. Over the years, I found myself working more and more with moms who are carrying it all, doing all that they can, and finding themselves barely hanging on. You may be feeling, overwhelm, confusion, guilt, shame, exhaustion and even anger. If so, I am here to help you navigate through these difficult feelings.
I tailor each session to meet the client's individual needs, personality, and strengths. Together, we'll build on your resilience, intuition, and inner resources while creating opportunities for growth, healing, and self-empowerment. My goal is to provide a safe, collaborative environment to make changes at your pace.
Hi! I'm Jessica, a licensed therapist with over 16 years of experience based in Los Angeles. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on creating real, lasting change. My work focuses on helping you better understand your internal experiences while developing practical tools to manage intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, and patterns that feel difficult to break. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, present, and in control of your life.
It takes courage to accept and seek help and set out on your recovery journey. My focus in our work will be on meeting you where you are at and in creating a safe, non-judgmental space where we can collaborate and explore what can be helpful in addressing your needs, wants, and barriers to getting them met.
Together, we will challenge ourselves to show up authentically in relationship so we can examine the areas of your life that you would like support in. These areas can often include examining how systemic and cultural factors influence our perception of ourselves, others, and the world.
My hope in our work together is that you'll come away with a renewed sense of self and identity that not only addresses the hardships and challenges you have endured, but also empowers you to affirm your sense of agency, and make your mark on the world.
