New to Grow
Hi! My name is Sakile, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who enjoys working with children, teens, and young adults. I have experience supporting clients from diverse backgrounds who are navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-esteem challenges. I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, supportive, and collaborative. My role is to walk alongside you on your journey—listening, supporting, and at times gently challenging you—while always meeting you with compassion and without judgment. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and sharing openly.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we'll focus on building a safe, affirming foundation. I use a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach, with special care for individuals from marginalized communities who may not have always felt seen, heard, or safe in mental health spaces. Together, we will explore what is bringing you in, identify your strengths, and begin creating a path towards healing.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I became a therapist because I deeply value helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered. My work is rooted in uplifting and amplifying marginalized and often unheard voices, and is informed and shaped by my own childhood experiences with trauma. As a Black woman, I also can understand firsthand how it feels to be unheard or misunderstood. My story shaped who I am today, and fueled my passion for creating safe and affirming spaces for healing.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work through a holistic and culturally sensitive lens, recognizing that our identities, experiences, and relationships all shape our mental health. I am very passionate about working with the Black, BIPOC, and other marginalized communities. With a background in Child Development, and experience as a school social worker, I have a strong understanding of how family systems, and early attachment relationships, influence our emotional well-being.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I strive to provide a warm, compassionate, and integrative approach to therapy. I tailor sessions to your unique needs while always honoring your lived experiences. I'm passionate about supporting BIPOC and other marginalized communities, while also creating a space where you feel seen, affirmed, and empowered to heal.
