Hi, I’m Sarah. I’m a therapist, and I work with people who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just needing a space to sort through what’s going on. My role is to support you without judgment and help you make sense of things in a way that feels useful and manageable. I am here to provide a safe, supportive space where we can work together on whatever brings you in.
In our first session, I will usually ask questions about what’s been going on, what you want help with, and a bit about your background. I may ask about your mood, stress, relationships, health, and any past counseling experiences. The goal is to get a picture of what life has been like for you and what you hope will change.
I strongly believe in a safe space, something comfortable for you where you can be your true self. My manner is friendly, respectful, consistent, encouraging and warm. I am currently available for tele-therapy and encourage you to reach out.
At some point in our lives we have difficulties and need help to explore those feelings for a better understanding and learn how to have a tool kit to deal with those difficulties. I work with everyone regardless or race, gender, culture, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status and age. As human's we are constantly growing and learning, so let's learn! I work with adolescents, families, and adults and specialize in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Person Center and come with a holistic approach to help you make progress and start feeling better. My approach to therapy varies based on your needs.
CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By identifying and changing unhelpful thinking patterns, a person can change their emotional response and their behavior.
DBT uses 4 corse skills, mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
Couples counseling helps partners understand and change the patterns that keep hurting the relationship, so they can communicate better, reconnect, and make healthier decisions together.

This is our first time in couples therapy and our initial intake appointment went really well. I felt like she helped introduce us to the process in a gentle and kind way and I look forward to continue to work with her.
