Hello, my name is Nicole Hervey and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Northern California. I have been practicing the craft of therapy for the past 6 years serving a variety of people with different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences with moderate to severe mental health disorders in multiple community settings. I have experience working with children, adolescents, transitional-age youth, families, and adults. I have provided service to underserved populations with various life experiences, homelessness, substance use, and system involvement including criminal justice and child welfare. As a therapist it is my privilege to help support you in your journey and navigate this path together.
In our first session we work on building our therapeutic relationship and learning more about your interests and goals while in therapy. We will work together on creating a transition plan to guide us through your therapy journey being prepared with the necessary tools to maintain your progress.
I meet clients where they are at emotionally and hold space for them to explore and express their feelings in a safe environment. I am very passionate in helping others. I am easy to talk to and can relate to others.
Working with those that want to work, grow, and evolve themselves mentally is a passion I hold close to my heart. Realizing that there is no shame in asking for help even though at times it is the most difficult thing to do. I provide a space for clients to explore and discuss any barriers or challenges they would like to personally overcome.
I have been trained in EMDR basic training and incorporate into my practice with clients when interested with this modality. EMDR is an evidence-based practice to help people recover from trauma and relieve PTSD, depression, and anxiety symptoms.
No matter where you are in your Therapy treatment journey you possess strengths and skills to help navigate through stressful and difficult times. I like to help clients identify the skills they already have and empower them to use the tools they already know while learning to build new ones.
