LCSW, 16 years of experience
New to Grow
So happy you are here. My name is Elizabeth. As a licensed clinician with 16 years of experience supporting teens and young adults in processing trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and adjusting to life transitions; my hope is to create a safe space through compassion and empathy. I take a holistic approach to treatment, and acknowledging the unique ways culture, identity and lived experiences influence healing and growing. Together, we will work to explore areas of your life that are challenging to set you on a path towards making positive changes in your life. I believe that building a genuine, open, and honest therapeutic relationship with my client is the best way to connect. In an effort to do so I will bring my most authentic self, as a bi-racial female, having lived and worked professionally in CA and NY. I like to think that having lived bi-costal, undoubtedly shows up in the work we do together, I find the balance between being kind but honest.
I recognize that sharing about yourself can be uncomfortable, especially when sharing with a stranger, even if that stranger is a therapist. Our first sessions is focused on creating a safe space and moving at a pace you feel comfortable with as we explore what has brought you to therapy, relevant history and potential goals. In our work together, we’ll explore not just what feels difficult right now, the current and past challenges, but also at the whole of who you are, your strengths, areas in need and capacity for growth.
My hope is to create a safe and comfortable space where sharing can feel less overwhelming. With a significant amount of compassion and empathy, I hope to create a space where clients feel heard. Past clients have shared that they feel like our sessions are a safe space to be vulnerable and explore their past, and finding hope again. I believe having a clearer understand of self, including how a persons mental health it impacts them currently, and work towards a better future.
I am passionate about working with young adults, and teens who feel like the are ready to explore how their past is showing up in their lives now, and work towards a happier, healthier more empowered version of themselves, that could look like healing past trauma, struggling with significant life transition(s), or looking to better understand their mental health to create positive change in their lives. I ask that you show up with curiosity and open to putting in the work.
I’m trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a method I love using because it gives clients real, tangible tools they can practice right away. Together, we focus on skills like mindfulness and staying present, managing strong emotions, and building healthier relationships—practical strategies that can make everyday life feel more balanced and manageable.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that focuses on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In my practice, I support clients in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns, developing healthier coping strategies, and applying practical skills that foster resilience and balance during times of transition.
Currently completing training in EMDR with the Center of Excellence in EMDR Therapy.
I work from a strengths based lens and believe that focus on a person's inherent strengths, supporting clients to be empowered, to recognize and build on their own abilities and resilience.
