Beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, but it can also be a powerful step toward meaningful change. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I am licensed in New York, Virginia, California, and Washington, and am approved by the Virginia Board to provide clinical supervision.
I have worked in schools, foster care, public mental health, substance use treatment, and private practice, which gives me a deep understanding of how trauma, relationships, and life transitions shape our emotional well-being.
I specialize in trauma-informed care and support clients navigating anxiety, mood disorders, complex trauma, relational challenges, and identity development, including gender and sexuality exploration. As a PhD student at the International Institute for Clinical Sexology, specializing in Advanced Gender Therapy, I provide affirming and thoughtful care.
My approach is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in evidence-based practice. Together, we focus not only on reducing distress but on building resilience, clarity, healthier relationships, and greater self-trust. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered to move forward.
I have been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in southern California for 16 years, working with children, adults and families. I have over 25 years of experience with the neuro-atypical diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Individuals with either of these neuro-atypical disorders experience many social challenges, sensory challenges, and misperceptions by the outside world (along with a lot of bad/unhelp advice). It can bring tremendous relief to receive relevant suggestions and understanding of the life experiences that accompany these diagnoses.
I have extensive experience working with individuals and their families in navigating what to do next after receiving a developmental diagnosis, such as ASD. It surprises so many families that there are many resources to assist with the struggles they have gone through or anticipate that they will go through. I have helped parents to understand their neuro-atypical child better, and the neuro-atypical person to understand themselves and their roles in life better. This has led to the person with the neuro-atypical diagnosis experiencing more successes in their roles as a student/co-worker, classmate, family member, partner, and friend.
My name is CynDee Pakyurek, PhD. I am a licensed psychologist in California (License PSY33716). I completed my graduate studies at California School of Professional Psychology. I was employed at Mayo Health System, Minnesota, for several years before I moved back to California, where I now work in private practice. I see clients both virtually and in-person. I know it may be difficult to take that first step to seek help. I believe that prioritizing mental health is a key to a happier, stable life.
I'm a bilingual (English and Spanish) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in California. I specialize in working with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD and trauma. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to work on their relationships with partners, family and themselves. Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or personal development, I am here to work alongside you, offering evidence-based techniques and empathetic guidance to promote healing and enhance your well-being.
I first and foremost adapt my style of therapy to meet your needs. We work together to identify what best supports you toward your goals or areas of focus in therapy. Some clients progress through insight and understanding about an issue while others progress through tangible present-moment skills and tools, all of which I can provide support you with. I also feel that Identity (race, gender, sexual orientation, etc) plays an important role about how we experience the world and how the world views us and I incorporate this into therapy. I see therapy as an equal and collaborative effort between us.
I offer a broad range of personal experiences and clinical background to therapy. I enjoy working with people of color and I identify strongly with them. I have extensive experience working with couples, mixed race individuals, inter-racial relationships, the LGBTQQI community, and athletes.
I believe I have a great feel for supporting you to be comfortable entering into therapy. Finding a balance of acceptance of you and where you are at in your life while also supporting you with the change you want to make. I offer inquisitive questions to inspire critical thought with tangible actions and tools that you can use.
You might be reading this because you or someone else is suffering. Possibly the life you worked for is in jeopardy because of a relationship. Maybe you are missing out by staying on the sidelines. Sometimes no matter how hard you try, you keep finding yourself in the same place again and again…STUCK. You can break the unhealthy patterns. Unfortunately, you might have to experience pain and emptiness to get better. I hope that you find the support and help you need.
To change, the hardest part is starting. Reading this could be your start. You need success to build the confidence to believe you can overcome whatever has been stopping you. Part of my approach is to help you understand and make peace with your past, which provides the foundation to improve your life. While clarifying your dream and vision for your future.
As a practitioner my focus is transformation. With work and practice you can move into mental and emotional wholeness. You can live the life of your dreams! Through purposeful action, you can create the life you want. I desire to serve you as a support, coach, and guide in partnering with you into living the life you deserve.
I feel very fortunate to have grown up in the Bay Area, but never truly appreciated it until I left and came back. I attended high school in Marin at the Branson School in Ross. After High School I left for Wheaton College in Massachusetts where I earned a B.A. in Psychology. I moved to Florida where I received my Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Prior to earning my Masters in Psychology I spent a number of years working in child and adolescent residential treatment centers in both San Francisco and Orlando, Florida. It was at this time that I fell in love with working with adolescents, adults, and their families. After graduate school, I found myself working for, and soon thereafter managing, an inpatient treatment program for adolescents who had experienced severe trauma.
I returned to California for good in 2011 where I started working as the Lead Therapist for the Adolescent Outpatient Program at Fremont Hospital. I opened a part time private practice in 2012 and transitioned to a full time practice in San Francisco in early 2013.

Through living in different countries, societies, socio-economic statuses, taking on differing roles, speaking different languages; I was able to comprehend differing viewpoints and the ways that language and experience can filter understanding. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, past experiences, or life stressors that makes it difficult to feel calm, confident and fully present in their lives. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, depression and challenges that can leave people feeling stuck, discouraged, and disconnected. Relationships might feel overly painful, or seem to start out great, but inevitably end with disappointment. People might feel they can't trust themselves, which can lead to hopelessness, despair and even depression. Some may have things sorted pretty well, but there's that one area that seems to poison the well and whatever you try, it just won't change.
Whatever it might be, my approach is compassionate, collaborative, empowering and practical. I integrate trauma-informed modalities such as EMDR, DBT, Mindfulness and Somatic/body-based approaches to help my clients better understand their emotions, cope better and create meaningful change. I have helped people in community mental health, acute crisis and in private practice. Most recently, I worked on a DBT Team, helping people learn to heal from trauma, narcissistic and other abuse, and the characterological issues that can follow, and finally to restructure and rebuild their lives. I also welcome conversations about meaning, purpose and the spiritual dimensions of healing when that is important to the client.
My name is Heather Cobbs, and I am passionate about working with people of all ages and walks of life that are on a journey to grow self love, a positive self image, and are looking to change self talk from negative to positive. It is my pleasure to assist women struggling with anxiety and/or depression to increase their mood by changing self talk, examine negative core beliefs, unravel dysfunctional behavior patterns, and provide tools to meet their life goals.
As a dedicated therapist, I am committed to empowering you on your journey toward a fulfilling and hopeful life. I specialize in a supportive yet direct approach, helping you uncover the roots of your challenges with expertise in areas like anxiety, depression, and trauma. Using an integrative methodology tailored to your unique needs, I draw from EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy to equip you with the tools for personal growth, goal achievement, and discovering deeper purpose
Are you ready to take control of your life and make some changes? Are you feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, stressed, stuck, and anxious and find it difficult to feel motivated? Or, maybe you’re recently experiencing a relationship issue and/or a recent loss and feeling sad and alone? I believe I can help you.
My name is Monica Victoria Pulido. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California Riverside and a Master’s in Social Worker from California State University of San Bernardino. I have extensive experience working with young children, young adults, outpatient care treating adults and the elderly, mental health settings, and groups. I can discuss and treat a variety of behavioral health concerns.
I am interested in working with individuals who are experiencing major life transitions, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression and stress. In my work, I hope to offer you a safe, warm, and empathetic space where you can share your feelings but also feel empowered to make the changes necessary to live a more meaningful life. I strongly believe in the importance of meeting individuals where they are. I will assist you with developing insight into yourself and your situation. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and support you where you want to be. Whether that is: to gain confidence, communicate better, set boundaries, or start healing from your past traumas. I hope to be able to assist you in building a better version of yourself.
Hello and welcome! I’m glad you are here.
A little bit about myself, I have been working in the mental health field for over 15 years, and it has been a meaningful journey. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, with a focus on Mental Health. I gained an understanding of the importance of accessible and compassionate care.
As I gained experience, I developed an interest in family systems and decided to further my education by pursing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Since then, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, families, and children, providing both individual therapy and group facilitation.
In 2020, I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Through this journey, I have had experiences that allowed me to better understand the broader systems that impact people’s lives and to focus on finding collaborative, strength-based solutions that support real, lasting change.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I provide a safe, accepting, and mindful environment as well as culturally sensitive services for children, adults, and families who are experiencing difficulties with emotional stress such as anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, behavioral issues such as ADHD, defiant, and oppositional behaviors, culture-related stress such as immigration and issues regarding identity including gender variant clients.
I strive to help clients move beyond the point that prevents them from living fulfilling lives. In helping clients to realize their life goals, I'll assist them in identifying possible ineffective responses to life stressors and coping patterns in order to replace them with those that lead to a higher quality of living.
