I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and dual diagnoses. My approach is compassionate, culturally sensitive, and focused on treating the whole person—I utilize evidence-based and self-empowering modalities to help clients gain insight, heal from within, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will focus on building a connection and understanding your unique story. I’ll ask questions as part of an intake assessment to gather important information about your background, current challenges, and goals for therapy. This helps me better understand your needs and how I can support you. While we’ll cover important topics, there’s no pressure to share anything before you’re ready. My priority is to create a safe, compassionate space where you feel seen, heard, and respected as we begin your journey together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist are creating a warm, non-judgmental space and helping clients feel truly heard and understood. I’m skilled at combining evidence-based approaches—such as CBT, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing—in a way that is tailored to your unique needs and goals. I have a knack for asking thoughtful questions that spark new insights, and I’m committed to helping you turn those insights into practical steps for real, lasting change. Clients often tell me they leave sessions feeling calmer, more hopeful, and more empowered to handle life’s challenges.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change in their lives. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected—from themselves, their relationships, or their sense of purpose. You might be navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, cultural adjustment, or the weight of self-criticism. You may be highly self-aware and motivated for change, but unsure how to start—or you might just know that something needs to shift. If you’re open to exploring your thoughts and feelings, willing to try new perspectives, and committed to building a more balanced and fulfilling life, I’m here to help you get there. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and make practical changes in daily life. In my practice, I integrate CBT techniques such as thought reframing, behavioral activation, and problem-solving skills, tailoring each intervention to the client’s unique goals and needs. I often combine CBT with mindfulness-based strategies to support long-term emotional regulation and resilience.

Compassion Focused

I incorporate Compassion-Focused Therapy to help clients reduce self-criticism, increase self-acceptance, and build emotional resilience. I guide clients in developing a kinder, more supportive inner voice through practices such as compassionate imagery, mindfulness, and self-soothing techniques. In my work, I integrate CFT with other approaches to address shame, trauma, and anxiety, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their experiences and cultivate self-compassion.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I use Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients develop present-moment awareness, reduce emotional reactivity, and cultivate a greater sense of calm and clarity. In my sessions, I integrate mindfulness practices such as breath awareness, body scans, and grounding exercises to help clients observe their thoughts and emotions without judgment. This approach is particularly effective for managing anxiety, stress, and negative thought patterns, and I often combine it with other therapeutic methods to support long-term well-being and emotional regulation.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence, strengthen their motivation, and take meaningful steps toward change. Through open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations, I support clients in clarifying their values and aligning their actions with their goals. MI is particularly effective for clients navigating life transitions, building healthier habits, or addressing patterns they feel stuck in, and I often integrate it with other therapeutic approaches to enhance engagement and long-term success.

Multicultural

I take a multicultural approach to therapy by honoring and integrating each client’s cultural background, values, and lived experiences into the therapeutic process. My work is informed by cultural humility, curiosity, and respect, ensuring clients feel understood and validated in the context of their identity, traditions, and community. I draw on my own cross-cultural experiences and professional training to help clients navigate challenges such as cultural adjustment, intergenerational differences, and identity development, creating a safe and inclusive space for growth.
