My treatment style is a blend of CBT, Attachment Theory, Schematic Therapy and Mindfulness. These therapy styles compliment each other for a well rounded treatment approach finding balance within the mind, body, and spirit. The main issues I treat are anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Do you ever feel like you're in a boat with no oars? I'm here to help. Based on your needs and your goals, we can make our own oars that work for your life.
It's equally important to focus on alleviating.symptoms while strengthening.your coping tools to enhace your well-being and happiness.
First session
After our first session, I hope you feel supported and heard. Sometimes, a first session can feel more administrative as I ask question and collect information. However, I hope for you to feel that I collected important information so we can build a plan together that focuses on your goals and how to limit the barriers that may have stood in your way.
Strengths
My strengths include my authenticity. I really want to help and truly listen so I can understand what's going on and how it's getting in the way of your happiness. I believe it's important to meet you where you are and reach the goals that you want. And if you aren't sure yet, that's where we can start. Life can be hard and always feels better to know you have someone at your side. If you are feeling like you must change how you are living or asking yourself why your relationship is falling apart, we can start there. Perhaps you can't sleep, are feeling depressed and crying all the time or worrying about so many different things in your life and your not sure what to do or where to turn. We can start there, and when you turn, that's where I will be. At your side.
Ideal clients
There is no ideal or cookie cutter client. We all have our moments in life where we may benefit from a helping hand. It's never going to look the same. However, the ideal trait that is helpful in working with each other is an openness to build trust and communicate about our life, the good the bad and he ugly as they say. That's where progress is seen and goals are met.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is my cornerstone. I use it with schematic therapy when h helpful to understand how our core beliefs of ourselves, others and the world is causing us barriers to our full selves. It blends well with understanding attachment issues that may have planted those maladaptive core beliefs early on in our lives. CBT is a great method used for various trauma focus and lends well to mindfulness and motivation therapy. I use the structure to stay grounded in practice and change the focus as needed based on your needs and goals.
