New to Grow
Hello, I am Marco, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 8 years of experience supporting clients from all backgrounds. My areas of focus include men's issues, anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, and psychotic disorders. I believe the most effective therapy is rooted in authenticity and mutual respect. My approach is collaborative and direct; I provide a safe, honest space to explore your challenges, focusing on practical truths rather than avoidance.
Your first session will be an opportunity for us to get to know one another. I will listen to what brings you in, explain the therapeutic process, and collaborate with you to define your goals. Together, we will develop a personalized roadmap for your growth, including a realistic timeline for your treatment.
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy for individuals, and systems-focused approaches for couples. I often compare our work to having a personal trainer: we will actively build your skills during our sessions, and I will equip you with actionable strategies to maintain your progress in your daily life.
Taking the first step toward therapy requires courage, and your desire for meaningful change is the most powerful tool you bring to our work together. Whether you are completely new to counseling or returning to your healing journey, I provide a compassionate, inclusive space tailored to your unique story. Our partnership works best if you have a baseline awareness of how these challenges are currently impacting your daily life, relationships, or overall well-being. Because healing is completely individual, our therapeutic timeline will adapt naturally to the depth of your symptoms and the personal goals we establish together. You do not have to navigate this path alone; we will move at a pace that feels safe, honoring, and deeply supportive of your growth.
CBT is relating your thoughts and emotions to your behavior. From my experience, this method has been very effective for depression, anxiety, and psychosis. I use this method increase your understanding of how past experiences, negative thoughts, and alternative perspectives lead to your current stress. Then we work on reframing your thoughts, develop effective coping skills, and increase your power over your emotions.
Motivational Interviewing is a great method to increase your awareness of how your symptoms impact your life. I also use this method to assess how motivated you are to engage in other treatment methods.
This concept I integrate across all treatment methods. Our experiences as BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ individuals have shaped how we have had to survive and thrive in a world not designed for our wellbeing. My multicultural perspective incorporates your unique experiences and the influences of your community to create a life you can navigate with power and confidence.
