(she/her)
Hi there! I’m Monica, a bilingual Spanish-speaking Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I’m so glad you’re here, and I want to acknowledge the courage it takes to seek support and make space for your own healing and growth. Life can feel challenging, unpredictable, and overwhelming at times. You may be feeling stuck, held back by fear, worry, sadness, insecurity, or the sense that you are not living as fully as you would like. Therapy can be a supportive place to better understand your thoughts and emotions, build healthy coping skills, and begin feeling more grounded, empowered, and at ease. My approach is integrative and compassionate, honoring the connection between physical, spiritual, and mental well-being as you work toward becoming the best version of yourself. I welcome adults from all backgrounds, and I especially enjoy supporting young adults, and women from diverse cultural communities who are navigating anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges, and other women’s issues. I know that reaching out for help can feel difficult, which is why I strive to create a warm, caring, and safe space where trust can grow. I believe meaningful change is possible, and I would be honored to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
During our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, the challenges that you're facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. There is no pressure to share everything at once as we will move at a pace that feels right and comfortable for you. Together, we'll begin identifying your strengths and creating a path towards healing, growth, and meaningful change.
One of the greatest strengths I bring to our therapy sessions is over 30 years of counseling experience combined with genuine compassion and understanding. I create a safe, gentle, supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. My approach is culturally sensitive, faith-informed when desired, and focused on helping clients recognize their strengths, build resilience, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, insight, hope, and emotional well-being.
I enjoy working with clients who are ready to better understand themselves and motivated to take steps towards positive change. My passion is supporting Christian women struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, women's issues, and life transitions with a warm, practical, and down-to-earth approach. My style is caring, direct, and collaborative—I offer a judgment-free space, helpful coping tools, and support to help clients feel more grounded and move forward with confidence.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my therapy practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you gain a greater understanding of your thoughts and emotions. We will work together with your unique struggles, empowering you to challenge negative patterns and embrace positive change. With empathy and my therapeutic skills, I create a safe space for your personal growth weaving CBT techniques seamlessly into our sessions to help you identify any maladaptive thinking patterns which lead to negative emotions. I assist and teach you to have a positive mindset to combat any negative thoughts.
