About me

Hi there, I’m Raquel Keck, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist here in the state of California. I bring a warm, grounded, and compassionate presence to therapy, creating a space where you can feel truly seen and supported. I work collaboratively with clients to explore patterns, build self-understanding, and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges with greater clarity, ease, and confidence.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I’ll take the time to really get to know you and hear what’s bringing you to therapy. Whether you come in with a clear goal or just a feeling that something feels off, this session is all about creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be yourself. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you, explore what matters most, and begin building a foundation for understanding, growth, and self-trust. My hope is that you leave the session feeling heard, supported, and a little more clear about the path forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly seen and understood. I combine curiosity, compassion, and practical tools to help clients explore patterns, make sense of their experiences, and develop strategies that fit their unique needs. My approach is collaborative and flexible, focusing on both insight and actionable growth so clients leave feeling empowered, supported, and more confident in navigating life’s challenges. I also pay close attention to each client’s pace and comfort, ensuring therapy feels manageable, meaningful, and tailored to them.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or burned out, especially if you find yourself overthinking, being hard on yourself, or struggling to make sense of your patterns. My ideal clients are curious about understanding themselves more deeply and are open to exploring both the “why” behind their challenges and practical ways to navigate them. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, coping skills, and confidence so you can move forward with greater clarity, ease, and self-trust. I also enjoy supporting clients in discovering their strengths and resilience, helping them see how the tools and insights we explore in therapy can be applied in their everyday lives.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we work on identifying unhelpful patterns and practicing healthier ways of thinking and responding. My approach is collaborative and supportive, focusing on giving clients practical tools they can use in everyday life.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy communication. In our work together, I support clients in finding balance between acceptance and change while navigating life’s challenges. My goal is to create a safe, collaborative space where clients can practice these skills and apply them with confidence in their daily lives.

EMDR

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process distressing memories and reduce the emotional intensity connected to past experiences. Through guided bilateral stimulation, clients are able to reprocess difficult events in a way that feels safer and less overwhelming. My role is to support clients with care and compassion as they move toward healing, resilience, and a greater sense of peace.

Psychoeducation

I incorporate psychoeducation to help clients better understand their mental health, treatment options, and the skills that support lasting change. By providing clear information and practical tools, clients feel more empowered and confident in their own growth process. I view education as a collaborative process that strengthens self-awareness and builds a strong foundation for healing.

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach to help clients recognize and build on their existing skills, resilience, and personal resources. Together, we focus on identifying what is working well in their lives and how to leverage those strengths to overcome challenges. My goal is to create a supportive, empowering environment where clients feel capable, valued, and motivated to grow.
