LCSW, 4 years of experience
Hello! I am a License Clinical Social Work (LCSW) license to do therapy in the states of California. As a social worker, my experience has involved working with a diverse groups of people (individuals, families and groups) in various settings and institutions. These settings have involved schools, homes, colleges, group homes, court, non-profits, hospitals and telehealth. I currently enjoy working with individuals as a license clinician providing therapy through telehealth becuase of its convenience and easy access to clients without the hassle of travel and allows you to chose the setting that is comfortable for you.
In our first session, we will complete an assessment (often referred to as a bio-psychosocial assessment). This also includes the concerns you wish to address in therapy. This will allow me to get an overall big picture of your life and help me understand your concerns better. You can also expect to discuss specific outcomes you want to work on in therapy.
My ability to listen and help clients increase self-awareness to promote change has been one of my greatest strengths. Additionally, working with each client to adopt strategies and interventions that work for them has been my second. Thirdly, I will make referrals when necessary for ongoing care or specific care needs.
I love working with individuals who want to improve their quality of life increase their self-awareness (cognitively) and change their behavior (no matter how big or small) to improve their self functionning and/or relatioships. This often entails addressing mood, negative thouhts, behavior patterns and life experiences related to trauma, interpersonal relationships, conflict, personal growth and self-improvement.
Helps to strengthen your relationships by exploring your attachment style (childhood experiences) and help to provide an overall sense of security (confidence) as you engage with others (less anxious, fear, doubt).
Provides a safe way to reprocess traumatic memories (associated with PTDS and or distressing life events) into useful and adaptive information lessening the impact of triggers. Does not require extensive talking in detail to heal.
Provides for a great way to learn emotion regulation through acceptance of reality through use of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
Provides ways for individuals to see and change destructive patterns through focus on behavior, thoughts and feelings as the relationships with each of these areas is explored and modified to achieve personal goals.
This is a flexible approach to therapy that allows use of various techniques and methods that best help to address an individual's needs.
