Hello! Welcome to my page! I’m Yisook, a Clinical Social Worker with 23 years of counseling experience supporting diverse individuals and families. I hold deep respect for the uniqueness of every client and I approach each therapeutic relationship with authenticity, curiosity, and openness. I believe strongly in human resilience and in each person’s inherent capacity for healing. Every challenge is an opportunity for growth, and together—through a strong therapeutic alliance—we can navigate difficulties and move toward a thriving, fulfilling life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I invite you to share what brings you to counseling and what feels most important right now. Together, we will begin identifying your goals, exploring your story, and building a safe space. You can expect my warmth and genuine care from the very beginning. My hope is that you feel safe, respected, and truly heard. I want you to experience a space where your uniqueness is honored and where you can explore your struggles without judgment

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is being a hardworking and creative therapist. I bring dedication and persistence to every session, ensuring that clients feel supported and cared for. At the same time, I use creativity—whether through reflective homework, therapeutic worksheets, or incorporating movies and literature—to help clients see their struggles in new ways and discover fresh paths toward healing. This combination of hard work and creativity allows me to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs and make the process both effective and engaging.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with individuals, couples, and families who are ready to engage in a collaborative process of healing and growth. Many are navigating challenges such as anxiety, OCD, depression, low self‑esteem, trauma, or relationship and family struggles. I especially connect with those facing multicultural, immigration, or intergenerational issues, where cultural sensitivity and understanding are essential. I work best with clients who value openness, curiosity, and a willingness to explore both immediate concerns and deeper root causes. They may appreciate creative tools like reflective homework, therapeutic worksheets, movies, and literature—that help them gain insight between sessions.

My treatment methods

Couples Counseling

I am a Gottman Level 2 certified couples therapist. I am also PREPARE/ENRICH specialist who can utilize the online couple check up assessment and complete report.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in my first few sessions, then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience.

Compassion Focused

have seen almost every issue stems from our self-concept. The relationship we have with our self-concept prevents our ability to achieve our full potential and happiness. I can help you find the attention and honor you deserve first by using integrative and compassion focused perspective
