Hey there! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Northern New Jersey. I received my Masters from New York University and have been practicing for over 15 years. I help young adults and adults struggling with issues relating to depression and anxiety, and also specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ population in exploring how to build happier, healthier lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we'll do some introductions and I will work to get to know you. My goal isn't going to be to pepper you with a hundred questions, but instead understand some of the specific challenges you are dealing with. This will help us to come up with a personalized plan that will guide our work in the first few sessions as we work on change and better understanding what's happening for you. I can offer some in person session, however our first appointments is usually through telehealth. However, if you want an in person session for our first session, please let me know and I will update that for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in the field for over 15 years, I've worked to really listen and understand. I like to say that while I may be an expert in the behavioral health field, you are the expert on you. We will work together to understand what your goals are and create a plan to begin to attain them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT helps clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety and other negative thinking patterns. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.

Gender-affirming therapy

This is used for clients exploring gender transitions or feeling that they do not identify with their gender assigned at birth. It focuses on affirming a patient’s gender identity and does not try to “repair” it, with a trauma-informed approach that challenges negative thoughts about self and identify a plan to live more fully in their identified gender.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counseling method that helps people resolve mixed feelings and insecurities to find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior. This style is helpful when used with other treatment modalities such as CBT.

Psychodynamic

Traditionally what most people think of as “talk therapy.” I use a present-focused client and the external world approach to help clients understand what is happening, better understand themselves and explore change behaviors.
